On Friday, Evie turned four! I know everyone says this but I really don’t know where the time has gone. I can’t believe she is four, it sounds so much older than three!
As Max was at school on her birthday we had planned that we would take her out for the day on the Saturday, when we could all go together, we though that a trip to the farm would be a nice idea for our animal mad girl. However, that plan was ruined when James ended up having to work and the weather was too bad on Friday for us to do much. I felt like I’d let her down a little bit, but I guess she’s four, as long as she’s got presents, balloons and cakes she’s happy!
Friday started with us opening presents and cards and playing with new toys. We let Evie pick what we had for lunch, hoping that she’d choose a decent pub or a restaurant, but nope, she went for KFC! What the birthday girl wants, the birthday girl gets!
After lunch we went to look for a new bike for her. A bike was the only thing that she’d actually asked for for her birthday and we thought it would be nice for her to go and pick one out herself. Of course she picked the pinkest, girliest bike she could! It had to have a basket on the front and a seat on the back for her doll…
After we’d picked Max up from school we went to my mums for tea. There were more presents, food, cake and balloons. The perfect end to the perfect day.
I love the photos that we managed to get of her with her number 4 ballon. Although we did have a bit of a nightmare with that balloon, we had gone to buy one on Thursday and kept it in the car until after she’d gone to sleep but when James went out to the car to collect it, it had deflated. So we went back to the shop on Friday morning and they gave us another one, we managed to get a few photos and then as soon as we got back in to the car the new one popped too!
I also made a little video of the day which you can watch below.
