The Ordinary Moments | Me and My Boy

my boy

This week has been a bit of a rough one for us. Max has been really ill with some sort of virus so Monday night and all day Tuesday were not good. James was working too so I was on my own with him and must have only had about two hours of broken sleep on Monday night, it definitely brought back those newborn baby days that I thought were now a distant memory!

On Wednesday he was feeling much better but still not quite well enough to go back to school, so I kept him at home. Evie was at preschool all day so it meant that me and Max got a very rare day together, just the two of us. Even though he still wasn’t well, I really wanted to make the most of us having a day together and to distract him from the fact that he was missing school again, which he was really upset about.

Most of the day was spent sat on the sofa as he didn’t have much energy, but it was still lovely. In the afternoon when the Calpol kicked in he seemed to perk up a little bit, so we decided to do some baking. We had some cookie dough which just needed slicing up and popping in the oven so we gave that a go. I could tell he was still poorly though as he didn’t even want to eat the cookies when they were done, I certainly didn’t let that stop me though!

He was finally well enough to go back to school on Thursday which he was really pleased about. I really enjoyed our day together, despite the circumstances. It’s a shame that we don’t get more one on one time together, it’s something I’d like to make more of an effort to do.

Here are a few pictures from our day together….

Thanks for reading.

Aww poor boy – I’ve had a poorly wee one over the weekend and you’re right it’s just like having a newborn again when all he wants to do is snuggly up on me on the sofa and have a little snooze – I hope he’s feeling much much better soon 🙂

Oh no sorry it’s been a tough one but it isn’t so nice to have that time and realise it’s a rare treat when they start school. X

Hope he’s feeling better now. It’s lovely to have some 1 on 1 time and I secretly love it when mine are a little under the weather because the sofa snuggles are the best! xx

As much we don’t want them to be poorly, it is sometimes nice to have a slower pace of life and get some snuggles. I hope he feeling better. x

We’ve had a poorly house too this week, not fun at all. But nice having snuggles on the sofa. #OrdinaryMoments

So glad he’s feeling better – it’s rubbish when they’re ill. Those cookies look amazing though! x
