The Siblings Project | August

august

It’s that time of the month again where I talk about my two little loves and what they’ve been getting up to over the past month. As it’s the summer holidays for us at the moment, this month has been a little different to usual and of course these two have been spending much more time together.

Spending more time together has pros and cons for these two, it inevitably means more fighting but it also means there are more of the good bits. I feel like a week or so into the holidays, once they have gotten used to being around each other more they start to tolerate each other a bit better and know when to give each other space (sometimes anyway). During term time, on weekends Evie is just so happy to spend time with Max that she ends up being a bit full on with him, he then gets annoyed and the fighting begins…

This last week has been a bit of a rubbish one for us as we sadly lost our dog, Louis. The kids have actually took it really well. Evie was upset to begin with but I think they are actually at a good age where they don’t fully understand that he isn’t coming back. We decided that we wanted to get a new puppy as soon as possible because the house just isn’t the same without him, so we collect our new pup at the end of the month and we are all so excited! I’m glad that the kids get to share this and will remember it fondly in the future.

This months photos were taken on a walk around the Botanical Gardens at the weekend, when we were just starting to come out of the sadness we were feeling after losing Louis. I feel like the summer holidays have whizzed by so far without us really doing much (apart from our holiday) so I am hoping we can get out over the next three weeks and let these two have some proper summer fun, if the weather allows!

I think this has to be my favourite photo, they can be lovely to each other sometimes…

How is August going for you?

Thanks for reading.

Children are more resilient than we give them credit for aren’t they? I guess they just accept things easier as they don’t know any different. That is so great that you have found a pup – can’t wait to see!!! Big hugs lovely xx

Oh sorry to hear it’s been tough lately hunny but these looks so beautiful and so many snuggles happening too between them. I love it. What a gorgeous place for sibling snaps too. They seem to have grown up this summer so much. #siblingsproject
