The Siblings Project | July

siblings

Today we finally found the time to go strawberry picking and as you can see from the photo above, these two crazies had a ball! Our plans very nearly got rained off this morning but luckily the weather cleared up this afternoon so off we went.

We went strawberry picking for the very first time last year (you can see our post here – the kids have changed so much!) and we all enjoyed it so much that we decided to make it a yearly tradition. But a busy few weeks have made it difficult for us to find the time.

It’s so sweet to see these two helping each other out, picking berries, sharing and running about together in the fields, just as kids should. One of my favourite moments from today was when Max helped Evie after she got a nettle sting. He picked her a dock leaf and tried to rub it better, bless him.

As always there has been some fighting between them this month, and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little bit worried about the summer holidays! But I’ve decided that the key to a stress free summer is getting out and about and keeping them occupied as much as possible.

I do often find myself wondering what these two will be like when they’re older, will they be close? Or maybe they just won’t get on. I always hoped that with them being close in age they would be the best of friends but that often isn’t the case. I hope that it’s just their age and normal siblings rivalry that they will grow out of. For now I will continue to look for the positives in their relationship and those special little moments between them that make it all worth while.

Here’s some photos of my two from today…
