On Wednesday we are off to Disneyland Paris and we are SO excited! We’d been keeping it a secret from the kids and weren’t sure how or when to do the big reveal. We’d thought about waiting until we were on our way to the airport but we didn’t want then to miss out on all the build up and excitement. Plus we wanted Max to have a bit of time to prepare for it, he likes to know what’s happening each week so I wanted him to know that he would be missing a few days of school this week.
In the end we decided to get a balloon and ask the staff in the shop to pop a message inside before they inflated it. We then asked Evie to pop the balloon and Max to read out the surprise message.

As is often the case with children’s reactions, they did seem a little unsure to begin with! But I think as it started to sink in you could see their excitement rising. They have both been talking about it all day and have been telling everyone that will listen that they’re going to Disneyland Paris on Wednesday!
As for the details, we are going Wednesday to Sunday, so four nights and are staying at Sequoia Lodge. We decided to fly, rather than go on the Eurostar just because we would have had a two and a half hour train journey just to get down to London before we even got on the Eurostar! Flying from Manchester just seemed easier and more convenient for us.
Me and James have been to Disneyland Paris a couple of times in the past, before we had the children and we stayed at Sequoia then and really liked it. It’s going to be lovely going back there and this time taking our children. I know that it’s going to be a completely different experience, more stressful that’s for sure but far more magical.
We cannot wait!
