THE £8 EBAY DRESS THAT EVERYONE’S TALKING ABOUT

ebay dress

If you’re on Instagram, then no doubt you will have seen lots of people wearing these bargain eBay sundresses. At just over £8, they are an absolute steal and I’ve ended up with a few of them. Whoops.

I’ve received quite a few questions over the past couple of weeks about the quality and sizing of the dresses. So I thought I would put together a post for anyone who is thinking of buying one.

If it hadn’t been for other people recommending them, I don’t think I ever would have bought a cheap dress from eBay. Because let’s be honest, you wouldn’t expect something of decent quality would you? I’m not going to lie, they are made from pretty cheap fabric, which is to be expected. But, they look good and are so easy to just throw on when the weather is as hot as it has been recently. So in my opinion, yes, they are absolutely worth the money. This is, however, coming from someone who is used to Primark quality clothes, so if you’re used to spending a bit more on your clothes then maybe this isn’t for you.

There are lots of different styles to choose from, and I’ve already got my eye on a couple more. The sunflower print one is gorgeous! But the first one I went for was this simple blue and white stripe number. I just ordered one to begin with, so I could see the quality for myself.

Blue stripe dress – £8.19

I was so pleased with the striped dress that I then went and ordered the pink floral version. I order the same size but I have to say when it arrived, it was a little looser than the first one. It’s definitely still wearable, but worth bearing in mind that the sizing can be a little hit and miss.

Sizing wise I would say these dresses come up true to size. I went for a L (12) which is my usual size and they fit great.

In terms of how well they wash – because I know that was something I was wondering about before I placed my order. I have worn, washed and ironed these dresses a good few times now and they actually wash really well. I half expected them to shrink, but they haven’t at all.

Pink dress – £8.19

The same eBay seller has a few other nice items so I decided to go for a khaki button down dress and I’m really impressed with it. It’s made from a linen type fabric which is really nice and has washed well with no shrinking. It’s definitely a better quality fabric than that of the sundresses.

Sizing wise, I thought I had read somewhere that these dresses come up small so I sized up to a XL (14-16) and it’s OK, but a little loose around the top. If I order another one, I will stick with my usual size.

Also available in white, black, grey, pink and red.

Khaki dress – £4.99 plus £3.60 p&p

Finally, also from eBay are the heart shaped sunglasses that I’m wearing in the photos above. They are completely over the top and not my usual style but I still really really like them! The do have these in a few different colours, and for just £3.99 (and free p&p), you can’t go wrong!

Sunglasses – £3.99
