What I Wore | The Red Dress

red dress

I wore this outfit for our 5th wedding anniversary and for my 30th birthday last month and love it, so I thought I would share it here.

The dress is also available in navy and black but red is a colour that I always find I gravitate towards. I feel like it really suits my fair skin, green eyes and hair colour whereas darker colours tend to wash me out. I really like the wrap style and cut of the dress too. The low cut neckline isn’t something I would usually go for but I think it works well…

Dress – ASOS – £38 (also available in black and navy)

My bag is by Boohoo (but from ASOS) and I just adore the embellished detail. The red in it matches my dress perfectly and adds a little bit of interest to the outfit. Sadly this has now sold out but there are similar ones available here and here.

If you’ve seen my outfit posts in the past you’ll know that I very rarely wear heels and tend to opt for sandals instead. I just don’t feel comfortable in them and honestly I can’t really walk well in them! But I decided I wanted to be a little bit different and try some heels this time. I love the neutral colour of these, it means that they will go with pretty much any outfit and I also really like the ankle strap detail. They are comfortable and easy to walk in as well, so perfect for someone like me who isn’t used to heels!

Heeled sandals – ASOS – £30 (also available in black)

To finish off the outfit I went for this choker style necklace. This one is very simple and delicate and an absolute bargain at just £4!
