What I Wore | The Bargain Red Coat

red coat

Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past few months you’ll know that red is absolutely everywhere this season and I for one am loving it.

A couple of year ago I probably would have stayed away from red because I wouldn’t have wanted to draw attention to myself  with such a bright colour. But I am totally embracing it at the moment with my new found fashion confidence. I now have a red coat, red jumper, red tee and I even have my eye on some awesome red boots…

I spotted this coat in Asda last week and snapped it up as it was only £30! What a bargain!

I really like the double breasted style and the large contrasting black buttons. I also picked up a checked jacket at the same time but I mentioned in that blog post that I didn’t really like the exposed poppers, it would have been so much better if it had proper buttons like this coat has.

In terms of the fit, this is definitely an oversized coat. I am usually between a size 12 and 14. I went for this in a size 12 and as you can see from the photos it is still pretty roomy. So there’s certainly no need to size up to be able to squeeze in those chunky knit jumpers.

In this outfit I wore the red coat with my trusty faux leather skirt, black tights and black hi top converse which are getting an awful lot of wear this autumn.

I’m thinking of putting together a winter coat collection post. If that’s something you’d be interested in seeing then please do leave me a comment and let me know.

What do you think? Yay or nay to the red coat?

Thank you for reading.
