What I Wore | Frills and Florals

OK, so I need some opinions on this dress. I bought this dress and another from ASOS last week and I love the other one (I’ll be sharing it here in a few days) but I’m undecided about this one.

This dress is exactly the kind of thing that once would have had my name written all over it and I would have felt very comfortable in, which I think is why I was drawn to it in the first place. But I’m not convinced that I can pull it off anymore.

Maybe it’s the fact that since I became a mum I’ve pretty much lived in jeans and jumpers or t-shirts and I feel like maybe I’ve lost my style identity a little. I used to dress quite girly, I loved dresses and pretty much lived in them. But I don’t feel very girly anymore. Becoming a mum definitely shouldn’t mean that you can’t dress how you want to anymore, but I guess maybe as we get older our style changes?

I do like how it looks with my khaki sleeveless jacket, and I think it tones it down quite nicely. I’m wearing my black velvet boots too, which let’s be honest would go with just about any outfit on the planet. I’ll be really sad when the weather gets warmer and I can no longer wear them.

So what do you guys think? Can I get away with this dress? Is is ‘me’?

I Agree, we do tend to get lazy about what we wear once we have children to care for. I lived in my jeans for so many years they were like a second skin. Then I decided it was time to regain a little me and I feel so much more confident in wearing whatever I like now, and that means dresses. I think the dress looks great on you and goes well with your boots and jacket.

I love it on you and I kinda want it for myself. Do you reckon it would be ok to pull up for breastfeeds?

I love it! It really suits you, but if you don’t feel totally comfortable, you won’t stop thinking about it…
