A couple of weeks ago me and James received a Gousto box and it came at just the right time as we felt like we were in a bit of a rut with meal times and wanted to try some new recipes. Now, this isn’t the first time that we’ve tried a Gousto box, we’ve had a couple in the past and have really enjoyed them so I thought that I would share our thoughts on this box with you all.
If you haven’t heard of Gousto before it’s basically a recipe box subscription, delivered straight to your door. Each week the Gousto chefs come up with new recipes and you choose which you would like to receive. You’re sent all of the ingredients that you need to make up delicious healthy meals. Everything is already measured out for you so there’s no messing around and no waste.
There’s lots of options available, so you can choose up to four recipes for two or four people and have your boxes delivered weekly, fortnightly or monthly. You can also cancel your subscription whenever you want, so you can just order a box as a one off if you prefer.
We opted for two meals for two people, we decided to leave the kids out as they are really fussy eaters! Here’s everything that we received in our box…
The first recipe that we made was spiced pork tenderloin & peanut sauce. I picked this as we love peanut butter but have never had it in a savoury dish like this, so it was something a little bit different.
Our second meal was sicilian chicken linguine. This was a safe choice for me as I love both chicken and pasta, so this had my name written all over it! I like that this one only took 20 minutes to make, it was simple yet tasty.
- 2 recipes for 2 people – £27.49 per week
- 2 recipes for 4 people – £41.99 per week
- 3 recipes for 2 people – £34.99 per week
- 3 recipes for 4 people – £51.99 per week
- 4 recipes for 2 people – £41.99 per week
- 4 recipes for 4 people – £59.99 per week
Our favourite meal of the two was the Sicilian chicken linguine as it was full of flavour and quick and easy to make. Overall, we love Gousto and think that it is worth the money if you’re wanting to try out some new and exciting recipes. I think it’s great that the subscription is completely flexible and that you can cancel at any time. Gousto is perfect for people who love to cook, if you prefer meals that require very little preparation and just aren’t that into cooking (like me!), then Gousto might not be for you. Me and James were fine cooking the meals on evenings when he wasn’t working and we weren’t in a hurry, but on a more hectic night I think I might have found the prep a little stressful on my own.
For £20 discount on your 1st and 2nd Gousto orders (on any sized box) meaning your 1st & 2nd boxes could cost just £7.49 each, use the code TORNADO.
Have you ever tried Gousto? What did you think?
Thanks for reading.
