Last week we were invited along to Marcos New York Italian in Sheffield. It’s a very nice restaurant and somewhere that I would normally have only though to go with my husband and not with the children. But on further investigation I discovered that it’s actually a great place to take little ones and the kids menu is really affordable.
Marco’s New York Italian Sheffield is a family-friendly New York Italian restaurant by celebrity chef, Marco Pierre White. The menu has been inspired by his Italian heritage and love for American / New York dishes.
Making the most of fresh local produce, Marco’s serves quality American-Italian food including a selection of fresh pastas, steaks, ribs, seafood, burgers and handmade pizzas.
There are Marcos New York Italians across the country but the one that we went to is located in the Hampton by Hilton Hotel on West Bar Green in Sheffield. It’s a great central location, perfect for families, couples, a get together with friends or even business meetings.
The restaurant itself is beautiful and very well presented…
When we arrived we were promptly shown to our table, the staff were super friendly and attentive throughout our time there. Even when Max smashed a plate on the floor, they couldn’t have been more helpful. What was also great about the staff was that they were interacting with the children, chatting to them and asking them questions directly rather than through us, which made us all feel very welcome.
There were colouring packs on the table for the children, which if you’re a parent you’ll understand just how important that is when dining with little people! It kept the kids happy and entertained which allowed us to relax and enjoy our evening.
The kids menu was great and really affordable. The children got to pick a starter, a main and a sweet for just £7.50. Alternatively you can choose just one course for £3.95 or two for £5.95.
Both Max and Evie went for slow roasted tomato soup followed by pizza and finally the warm chocolate brownie sundae, which looked delicious and was a big hit!

Me and James had the Great American sharing board to start, which was amazing. We were also provided with a little bowl of water each to clean out hands, which was very much needed let me tell you!
For main I had the cannelloni al forno di spinaci e ricotta and James had the spaghetti al pesto genovese. Both were delicious and very well presented.
For dessert me and James shared The Italian job which is a trio of desserts: chocolate brownie, blueberry cheesecake and tiramisu. All of which were very tasty!
In terms of prices, I think that it was very reasonable, The children menu in particular was great value for just £7.50 for three courses. Our starter was £13.95, my main £11.75, James’ main £9.25 and our dessert was £7.75.

Overall we had a fantastic time at Marcos New York Italian and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone, but especially families. We cannot wait to go again!
