Spring has finally sprung and I don’t know about you but I’ve started thinking about ways I can update the rooms in our home for spring. I’ve just added a new rug and cushions in the living room and now I’m thinking about how I can bring spring into the children’s bedrooms.
Here are a few ideas I have…
Firstly and most importantly, add some colour! Whether it’s with new cushions, throws, fun wall art or even a new rug. Adding some bright pops of colour will really help to brighten up the room for spring.
Give the room a spring clean and clear out some of those old toys that the kids no longer play with. Decluttering can make a big difference to a room and make it feel so much more spacious and bright.
As spring bring with it lighter evenings, it can make it difficult for little ones to get to sleep when they know it isn’t dark outside yet. So a top tip is to invest in black out blinds or curtains. Direct Blinds have a great selection of curtains with different lining options, including blackout.
There’s nothing quite like fresh new bedding is there? And especially at this time of year when everything feels so bright and new. Although I’ve been talking about adding colour in this post, I don’t think you can beat fresh white sheets in the spring. Next have a lovely cotton set here for just £15!
Adding greenery is guaranteed to make a room feel fresh and ready for spring. You might be thinking plants in a kids bedroom?! Yes! Why can’t children have plants in their room? My children are 4 and 6 and both have plants in their rooms, they love looking after them and watering them. Artificial plants are a great alternative and still a great way of bringing the outdoors in.
If you have time to do a bit of painting, a fresh coat will make a huge difference to the room. Whether you’re freshening it up with a coat of white paint or adding a bright feature wall, this will definitely help bring the room into the new season.
Thank you for reading.
