On day two of our Disneyland holiday we headed over to Walt Disney Studios. The studios are smaller than the main Disneyland park, but there’s still plenty to do. We just found it was a much more relaxed day.
You can see part one of our Disneyland posts here.
I would say that there aren’t as many rides that are suitable for small children in this park, but there’s lots of other entertainment. The kids particularly enjoyed the Disney Junior Live on Stage show and we all loved the Stunt Show Spectacular which is a really great show for the whole family.
The highlight of the day was definitely meeting Toy Story’s Woody. Well, at least it was for me anyway! We found that the meet and greet queues weren’t quite so long at Disney Studios which was nice.
Another highlight was the Ratatouille ride, which is a 4D experience in which you are shrunk down to the size of Remy. You duck, dive, dodge and scurry to safety in a dazzling chase across a gigantic kitchen. It’s absolutely fantastic!
That evening we ate at Bistrot Chez Remy, which is such a cool restaurant. It’s made to feel like you’ve been shrunk down to the size of a rat and everything in the restaurant is huge. The food was great and of course everything comes with ratatouille!
After dinner we headed back to the main park for the 25th anniversary illuminations, which are absolutely incredible and a definite highlight of the holiday for me. The castle is illuminated with different Disney stories, along with fireworks and of course Disney songs. It really was spectacular. The only down side is how busy it gets. If you want a good view, close to the front, make sure you get there nice and early.
