Hotel La Tour Birmingham | Review

Hotel La Tour

Last month me and my husband headed to Birmingham for a night away to celebrate my 30th birthday. We knew we wanted to stay in a nice hotel that was reasonably priced and located in the city centre, and Hotel La Tour looked like it would tick all the boxes for us.

The hotel

The hotel is located on Albert Street, which is just a few minutes from the Bull Ring and train station. Perfect for a spot of birthday shopping! In the past we’ve made the mistake of booking hotels that are just too far out of the city centre so we didn’t want to make the same mistake again and we couldn’t have been happier with the location.

The hotel itself is very well presented and the decor is modern throughout. The lobby area is bright, spacious and very welcoming. Check in was super quick, with no queuing and we were greeted by helpful and friendly staff.

The room

Our room, which was an executive double was a nice size at 25.5 square metres. The room was kitted out with a 42″ TV, desk area, tea and coffee making facilities, iron & ironing board, air conditioning, shower and toiletries. Pretty much everything that we could have possibly needed doing our stay.

I often find hotel beds uncomfortable and don’t usually get a good nights sleep, but this one was lovely! No complaints here at all.

Mr White’s English Chophouse

Mr White’s English Chophouse is the hotel’s restaurant and we dined here on the evening of our stay. Cost wise, it is on the pricier side but I would say it is worth it because the food was divine. We went for the beef wellington for our main, which serves two and does cost an eye watering £60 but my goodness it was amazing! If you are staying at the hotel, you have to try it.

Breakfast

Breakfast the next morning was included in the cost of our stay and it was really good. There was plenty to choose from, from cereal and pastries to a full English. Of course James opted for the full cooked breakfast and I am assured it was delicious, it certainly looked it.

We paid £120 for one night at Hotel La Tour. Which is a little on the pricey side but considering that this is a four star luxury hotel, I think it is reasonable. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at Hotel La Tour and would definitely recommend it, particularly for the location which really couldn’t be any better.

Have you ever stayed at Hotel La Tour?
