Yesterday we headed over to Farmer Copleys to pick some pumpkins. We went last year for the first time and had such a good time that I feel like we’ve been looking forward to going again all year.
Unfortunately Storm Brian ruined it a little for us with his crazy high winds and actually it was pretty bloody cold. Not just that but the kids were being absolute demons during the car journey there and back, so that really wasn’t much fun.
But despite the problems we still managed to pick our pumpkins and have some fun together. The kids cannot wait to carve their pumpkins ready for halloween.
I would say that last year there were more pumpkins available and a better variety to choose from. We managed to get a huge white one last time but I didn’t see any at all this year. So if you are thinking of going to Farmer Copleys this year I would say go as soon as possible, or there won’t be any pumpkins left!
As well as picking your own pumpkin there’s lots of other things to do at Farmer Copleys such as the tractor ride, fun fair rides, pumpkin carving, face painting and more.
It’s free to get in to Farmer Copleys, you just pay for your pumpkins and any thing else that you choose to do. It’s worth noting that there’s a £5 deposit required for wheelbarrows, this wasn’t the case last year so we didn’t take any cash with us and ended up having to carry our pumpkins, which isn’t easy! Small pumpkins are £3, medium £4, large £5 and jumbo ones are £9 and you can pay by card.
Farmer Copleys Pumpkin Festival is on until 29th October.
You can see last years pumpkin picking post here.
Here’s a few snaps from our day…
Have you picked your pumpkins yet?
Thanks for reading.
