Sundown Adventureland

Sundown Adventureland

A couple of weeks ago we headed to Sundown Adventureland for a family day out. It really is one of my favourite places as I have lots of fond memories of days their when I was younger (it was known as Pet’s Corner back then). I love that my children love it just as much as I did when I was little.

If you’ve never been to Sundown Adventureland, it’s an under 10’s theme park in Retford, Nottinghamshire. Sundown first opened it’s doors in the 1970’s. It’s actually not changed that much since I was young and I love that about it! It’s an odd place and some of it is a little dated but it’s full of charm, colour and quirky rides and buildings, it’s just brilliant! I mean where else could you go on Santa’s Sleigh Ride in August?!

As well as rides, there’s a few outdoor playgrounds, indoor soft play areas, Toy Town and my personal favourite, the Yellow Brick Road! Plenty to keep little ones occupied.

Sundown is also great at Christmas. We went a couple of years ago and are hoping to go back again this year. Their Xmas Spectacular includes a visit to see Santa, the magical Night before Christmas ride as well as lots of Christmas decorations and twinkling lights, it truly is magical for little ones. Please note that booking is essential for the Xmas Spectacular.

Entry to Sundown Adventureland for adults and children over 90cm (in high season) is £16, and free for anyone under 90cm. More pricing information can be found here.

You can visit Sundown Adventureland’s website here, or like their page on Facebook.

Are you ready for serious photo spam? I went a little bit crazy with the camera, but it’s just such an amazing place for photos! Here we go…

Have you ever been to Sundown Adventureland? Do you love it as much as we do?
