A Family Meal at The Park Pub

The Park pub

Last week we were invited along to one of our local pubs to enjoy a family meal. Despite it only being about a five minute drive from where we live, I hadn’t been for years and have never taken the kids so I was keen to see what it would be like for families.

The pub has recently been refurbished and I was really impressed with the decor inside. It has that cosy country pub kind of feel to it, which I love.

The Park Pub is owned by Sizzling Pubs and has a fantastic range of food to choose from. The kids were able to choose a main, dessert and a drink from the menu for just £4.50 each! Which I thought was great value for money. You can see the full kids menu here.

The kids were able to choose exactly how they wanted their main, even down to what side and veg they wanted. For dessert they both picked the ‘build your own sundae’ which came with two scoops of ice cream, Cadbury dairy milk buttons, marshmallows, milk chocolate pieces and chocolate sauce!

Me and James chose nachos to share as a starter, they came with guacamole, salsa, sour cream, jalapeños and American cheese sauce and were absolutely delicious.

For main I had roast chicken and James opted for the skyscraper burger, both of which were really tasty. The portion sizes are very generous, so you definitely won’t go hungry! You can see the full menu here.

We popped back to the pub again the next day for a quick coffee, which was a very different experience. The previous evening was busy and lively but we found it was much quieter during the day time.

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at The Park and would recommend it to families looking for some good hearty classic pub food at very reasonable prices.

Thanks for reading.
