1. The Fountains of Bellagio

The Fountains of Bellagio, which is a free attraction at the resort Bellagio, is a famous and transcendent display on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. The spectacle of a musical fountain show, set-up on the backdrop of a 8.5-acre man-made lake, enjoying the services of 1,214 water nozzles and 4,792 lights, is a stunning performance of 460 vertical feet of fountains. The lake forms the backdrop for evenings of music and dancing often accompanied by fountain spring performances. Initially costing a staggering $40 million, the Fountains of the Bellagio hold the position as the most expensive and famous one in the world, which its status was only outvoted by The Dubai Fountain in 2009.

Besides the fountains, the Bellagio is a place that has an abundance of attractions both inside and outside. These include the Bellagio Gallery of Art, the Conservatory and the best botanical gardens, and the world’s largest glass sculpture of Francesco Dale Chihuly. The resort also tempts visitors with its fantastic cuisine, having restaurants presided over by distinguished chefs such as Julian Serrato, Todd English, Michael Marie, Jean Georges Vongerichtin, and Wolfgang Puck. Although the resort has sophisticated Cirque du Soleil’s mesmerizing water-themed performance in their 1800 seat theater, and the high-end shopping area that houses premium labels like Chanel, Gucci, and Prada, it really does not persuade me to take a look at what they offer.

Blackstone Inc. and MGM Resorts International, Bellagio which is owned and operated by respectively, is an attraction that covers 77 acres and features a 156,000 square foot casino, with 2,700 slot machines and 173 table games upon opening. The poker area, called Bobby’s Room, which used to be a high-limit area, is now the casino. The room got the name of the former Bellagio president, long-term MGM employee, and legendary professional player – Bobby Baldwin. Bellagio, up to 2009, was a top player allowing high stakes poker until the opening of Aria nearby that very year. It presently still hosts both the WPT Five Diamond World Poker Classic and the Five-Star World Poker Classic. To the delight of high rollers, 2013 saw the emergence of Villa Privé, a private 2,600 sq ft casino meant for exclusive use.

If you want a distinctive point of view of the sparkling lights and never-ending hustle of “Sin City”, you need to stop looking here. Amongst the intertwined gardens and architecture of LINQ Promenade, Nestled by Caesars Entertainment, the High Roller opened to public on the 31st of March, 2014, and was recognized as the world’s largest Ferris wheel. It barely beat the 164-meter Singapore Flyer, which stood tall since 2008, by 2.74 meters. After High Roller dropped its title to Ain Dubai in October 2021, it regained its status as the tallest working Ferris wheel when Ain Dubai was closed in March 2022. Soaring from one end of the city to the other, the wheel also gives the tourists a glimpse of the Strip. The ride is an experience, not just a ride. When the daylight becomes a darkness, the majestic city views start to glitter like a star-studded sky, and it becomes even more memorable.
