I love Christmas. There is something really special about everyone pausing, putting their lives on hold and focusing on their nearest and dearest, for a change. However, some things about the festive season also drive me crazy!
Gift buying is fun, but it can also be a bit of a hassle, especially when you’re not sure what to buy. Usually, buying for the kids is relatively easy. If you ask a child what they want for Christmas, you usually end up with a list as long as your arm. With a list like that, you are not going to have a problem finding a suitable present.
But, when you ask the men in your life the same question you are likely to get a blank look rather than a list of ideas. I certainly have had this problem, so to give you a hand I have come up with a few present ideas.
Jeans and T-shirts
Most men wear jeans and t-shirts so they make great presents. You just have to be careful to keep the receipt, so that they can change them if they want.
T-shirts are an especially good present. If you know that someone follows a certain group, you can personalise your gift by buying a t-shirt or sweatshirt that features that band.
Sports themed gifts
A lot of men like sports. They are either follow a particular team, or play themselves.
If you have a big enough budget, a football or Rugby shirt is a great gift. Tickets for a sporting event, or a sports channel subscription will be very welcome. If you are on a tighter budget, a themed mug is a gift that can work for the right man.
These days, men use a lot more toiletries than they used to. If you know what your man uses for his hair or beard you can always buy them some of that. Of course, you can always fall back on the old favourite of aftershave.
Christmas themed presents
If you are really stuck, my suggestion is that you go down the Christmas themed clothing route. Most men will happily wear a Xmas jumper at least around the house, and you will usually catch them wearing Christmas socks, all year round!
Snapping up the bargains
For most of us, money is tight, so we always appreciate a bargain. If you have missed the Black Friday sales, you don’t need to worry. In the past, you would have had to wait for Christmas Eve to get a bargain. These days, there are sales on everywhere, practically all year round. Many retailers continue their Black Friday sales for a while, and a lot put together two for one offers to tempt consumers to shop with them during December. In addition, before you shop, it is always worthwhile going online and looking for vouchers. Sometimes you can get things for less by buying them using click and collect.
I hope this has been helpful for you.
