GETTING THE CHOP FOR THE LITTLE PRINCESS TRUST

Little Princess Trust

Evie was such a baldy baby, even on her first birthday she still only had the tiniest amount of hair coming through. I was so pleased when it finally started growing and she gained her gorgeous curls. She still gets compliments on her hair wherever we go. So when she came to me and told me that she wanted to cut her hair off and donate it to the Little Princess Trust I was a little sad that she wanted to cut off her beautiful curls, but I was also immensely proud that at the age of six she wanted to do something so selfless.

She told me that she doesn’t need so much hair and that she wanted to give it to a little girl who needs it. How could I say no? At the end of the day, it’s just hair and it will grow back again. What would we be teaching her if we told her she couldn’t do it?

I was surprised that she had even heard about Little Princess Trust, but she informed me that a couple of girls at school had donated their hair and that’s where she had heard about it.

If you don’t know anything about Little Princess Trust they provide real hair wigs to children and young people with hair loss, as well as funding vital research into childhood cancer. You can donate your hair if it is a minimum of 7 inches, send it in by post and it will be made into a wig for a child who needs it.

“We use hair donations and fundraising monies sent to us by our amazing supporters, to manufacture and fit our beautiful real hair wigs. Established in 2006, we have supplied over 8000 wigs to children and young people and have invested circa £5 million into ground-breaking childhood cancer research.”

Evie will be getting the chop on Wednesday 21st August by the lovely Rebecca at Hair Office in Sheffield, and I will of course share photos and videos afterwards.

If you would like to sponsor Evie please visit our JustGiving page here. All money raised will go to Little Princess Trust and help fund research into childhood cancer.
