During lockdown we haven’t been able to go out and get our nails done like we usually would, so many of us have been attempting to do our own. Some may have kept it simple, while other have gone all out. I’d say I’m somewhere in the middle with some simple nail ideas and some a little more creative. We still don’t know how much longer we are going to have to wait for nail technicians to open up again here in the UK, so I thought I would share a few diy nail art ideas with you all. These are all relatively easy to do, if I can do them then anyone can!
Anyone who knows me knows I love anything rainbow themed. So I couldn’t resist doing rainbow nails. This is a super simple idea, yet it looks so cute! You could go for a bright rainbow design or more pastel shades like I have here. I mainly used Essie polishes for this as they are my absolute favourites at the moment and they have such gorgeous colours.
Pink to red ombre
Another really simple idea that still looks great. You’ll just need five nail polish shades ranging from red to light pink for this. I actually had to mix a couple of colours together as I didn’t quite have enough. But mixing is a really good way to get the colour you need without having to pay out for a whole new bottle of polish!
This is definitely one of my favourites that I’ve done during lockdown and again it was really quick and easy to do. The only tricky part is finding something suitable to create the little dots with. I tried the end of a skewer at first but it was too big so I ended up using the end of match, which worked perfectly! Of course you could do any colour combination you wanted to with this but I really like the light pink and black together.
I can’t take any credit for this idea, I actually saw it on Emily Jane Lathan. She is the queen of nails on Instagram and has a few brilliant nail art tutorials on her IGTV channel. I loved this abstract design which is perfect as it’s meant to look messy so you really can’t get it wrong! I think this would work with lots of different colour combinations so definitely don’t rush out to buy these exact colours.
Which nails are your favourites? For me I think it has to be either the tiny dots or rainbow nails. Do you have any other diy nail art ideas? Let me know in the comments.
Thank you for reading.
