I’ve been a fan of Vegamour hair care products for a while now, you may have seen that I reviewed their GRO collection back in October last year. I had been struggling with my fine, thinning hair and Vegamour helped me start on my regrowth journey. They recently asked if I would like to give their HYDR-8 range a try, and as I am trying to grow my hair right now, and struggle with dry ends, I was more than happy to test it out! Read on to find out my thoughts…

The HYDR-8 collection
The HYDR-8 collection includes a shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, repair mask and a repair oil. The range helps to repair and strengthen damaged hair to protect it from further damage. It promises to leave your hair feeling smooth, shiny and frizz free. All thanks to key ingredients; amino acids and Karmatin.
As I mentioned earlier I have been trying to regrow my thinning hair. I have found that biotin has helped me hugely and I now have lots of wonderful regrowth. But, that regrowth means lots of short, frizzy, fly away hairs! So I was interested to see what this range would do to tame my new unruly hair.
Hydrate and Repair Shampoo
The first thing I noticed about this shampoo is the gorgeous scent and that fact that only a small amount is needed to create a good lather, a little goes a long way! My hair instantly felt smooth and soft, without being weighed down. After a couple of weeks, my dry ends were definitely looking healthier and more hydrated.
Hydrate and Repair Conditioner
I sometimes struggle with conditioners because I have very fine hair, often they can be too heavy for my hair and make it look greasy. I didn’t have this problem with the Hydrate and Repair Conditioner from Vegamour. It was light enough for my thin hair, but yet still made my hair feel soft of hydrated.
Leave-In Conditioner
I’m not usually one to use leave in conditioners, because as I mentioned earlier my hair is very fine and can look greasy easily. The HYDR-8 Leave-In Conditioner wasn’t too heavy on my hair and actually helped a lot with styling. I like to wear my hair in a slick back bun inbetween washes, so a leave in conditioner is perfect for this as it helps get that perfectly smooth look whilst treating your hair at the same time.
Weightless Repair Oil
This might just be my favourite product out of the range, it’s been a life saver for my fly aways. Since taking biotin I have seen a lot of regrowth which is great, but that comes with a lot of short frizzy baby hairs that need to be tamed. I simply add a small amount of the Weighless Repair Oil to my hands and smooth through my hair, it has really helped keep my hair looking frizz free!
Deep Moisture Repair Mask
The Deep Moisture Repair Mask can be used once or twice per week, in place of conditioner. I have been using it once a week and leaving in for 3-5 minutes as the directions suggest. I have been focusing the product on my ends as that is where my hair needs the most hydration. This product feels very luxurious and leaves my hair looking and feeling incredible. It makes my hair less prone to tangling and much easier to style.
My thoughts
I am very impressed with this range so far and will definitely be continuing to us the products. My favourite product is the Weightless Oil which has really helped to tame my frizzy fly away hairs. Closely followed by the Deep Moisture Repair Mask which is such a brilliant product, my hair absolutely loves this stuff! If you too are struggling with dry and/or damaged hair I can’t recommend the Vegamour HYDR-8 collection enough. Check out the full range here.
