I am a big fan of wicker storage and use it in lots of different ways around our home. It’s reasonably priced, comes in many different shapes, sizes and styles and of course it looks great. You really can’t go wrong with wicker! I’ve put together a list of 10 ways that you can use wicker storage around the home. At the end of this post I’ll be sharing some of my favourite wicker storage pieces from The Holding Company.
Both of my children have wicker baskets in their bedrooms to store toys. I really like how they look and they hold much more than you would expect.
It’s a good idea to have a large wicker basket by your front door for people to put their shoes in. We all know how messy shoes can make your hallway look, so this is a simple way to keep them tidy and out of sight.
One of my favourite ways to use wicker baskets is for house plants. It’s a look that is very much on trend at the moment and I love it. I think I pretty much have one in every room in the house!
You might think of smaller baskets when you think of wicker storage but there’s actually lots of larger sizes available. You can get large wicker hampers that are perfect for laundry and will keep your dirty washing hidden away nicely.
During the winter months we have a few blankets out in our lounge to snuggle under when it’s cold. But blankets and throws can end up looking quite messy so it’s nice to have somewhere that you can tidy them away to, such as a wicker basket.
As I mentioned earlier, there’s lots of different shapes and sizes of wicker storage available and some are perfect for storing books. Books can look quite untidy so I like to be able to hide them away in a storage box.
I have a few wicker storage baskets in the bathroom to store our toiletries. This is a cheap and easy way to keep your products organised.
Another bathroom idea, and a really useful one to know. Try rolling your towels up and storing them in a lovely wicker basket, not only will this look nice in your bathroom but it saves so much space too!
9. Toilet rolls
Toilet rolls are one of those really awkward things that you just don’t know how or where to store. I like to take them out of their unsightly packaging and place them in a basket. This looks much better and means that they are easily accessible.
10. Underbed storage
This has to be my favourite way to use wicker storage. We all know how valuable that space under our beds is, don’t we? It’s perfect for storing clothes and other bits and bobs that don’t need to be out. There’s lots of different options when it comes to underbed storage but alot are plastic and really not very easy on the eye. That’s why I love the wicker underbed storage options, they look so much better than plastic and are usually just as cheap.
The Holding Company is one of my favourite places to buy storage. They sell a wide range of storage baskets, including wicker. Below are some of my favourites items form their website. Head over to their site to browse the full range…
