We are hoping to buy our own home later this year and one of the first things on our list of renovations will be the bathroom. I am so excited about finally being able to put all of my Pinterest boards into action and create the bathroom of my dreams.
Below are some of the ideas I have and current bathroom trends for 2020…
I’m really loving the black bathroom fixtures trend just now. Black taps, black shower screens and shower heads. They look modern and simple, yet make a real statement. I think they look particularly chic against a mainly white bathroom as it really makes the black pop. But at the same time, because black is a neutral colour it will work with pretty much any other colour palette. This is great as it means you aren’t restricted in your tile or paint choices.
Currently we live in a terraced house with a tiny bathroom, which means our bath is really small. I’m a big fan of relaxing baths but they aren’t ever that great because I’m squashed into a small bath! So the dream is to have a lovely big bath in our next home.
When it comes to baths and showers, lots of people struggle with water pressure these days. This can be caused by many things such as leaks and blockages. Twin pump booster sets can improve effectiveness and put an end to poor water pressure, so this is something that we will definitely consider installing during our bathroom renovations.
Herringbone flooring is something that we are very familiar with, but the latest trend is herringbone tiles and I have to say I love it! I think it makes a subtle statement and really adds some interest to a bathroom. What do you think to this trend? Love it or hate it?
Light and bright
This is something I say about any room in the home as I personally love light and bright spaces. It’s something that I feel really helps to lift my mood and is why I would never go with all dark colours in any room. A bathroom is a place that I often spend time relaxing in so I feel light colours would really help to make the space feel calm and tranquil. That’s not to say that I wouldn’t incorporate some dark colours, such as black fixtures as mentioned earlier, or patterned tiles which I will talk about in my next point. But for wall tiles and paint, light colours are the way to go for me.
I am obsessed with this current trend for beautiful patterned tiles. Whether it’s on the walls or floor, they make such a statement. I also like clashing tiles, which also seems to be very popular just now. But as much as I love this trend it’s something that I would have to put a lot of thought into as I would worry that it’s something that would date very quickly as trends change.
What do you think to these bathroom trends?
Thank you for reading.
