It can be frustrating when your bathroom is looking tired, but you simply don’t have the funds available to have a new one fitted. Our bathrooms are one of the most used rooms in our homes so it’s understandable that they will start to look a little run down over time. There are lots of things you can do to freshen up your bathroom, even if you’re on a budget. Here are a few ideas…
Update fixtures and fittings
This might not be something that has even crossed your mind, as it seems like such a small detail in a bathroom. But actually, replacing old fixtures and fittings can make a huge difference in a bathroom. It might be new taps, a towel rail, toilet roll holder or even a shower head. Whatever it is, it will make a big difference and really help to freshen up the space.
Whether you just give your bathroom a fresh coat of paint, or go for a completely new colour, it is sure to make all the difference to the room. Personally, I like to go for light colours in a bathroom as I find that they brighten up a small space and are also the most relaxing, which is perfect for a long soak in the bath!
Install a new shower
Do you have problems with water pressure in your home? It is a common issue, but maybe it’s time to consider installing a new shower. Or, if you don’t want to invest in a new shower right now, then pressure boosting shower pumps from Pump Sales Direct are a great alternative. They work by maintaining a consistent water pressure, which will make your shower feel brand new again!
Is your bathroom full of clutter and in desperate need of some attention? New storage will not only look great but will also help give you the motivation to declutter. And of course, decluttering won’t cost you a penny and yet it is guaranteed to make a big impact on your bathroom.
If your light fittings are a little dated then it might be time to upgrade them for something a little more modern. You might decide to go for something simple and minimalistic, or perhaps something that really has the wow factor and will act as a focal point in the room. Pinterest is a great place to look for lighting, and other decor ideas for the home.
Add new accessories
Adding new accessories such as towels, rugs, plants, pictures, toothbrush holders etc is probably the most obvious way to update your bathroom. It can get expensive though as it’s easy to get carried away with new decor. Make sure you are selective about the things you want to buy, and make sure you shop around for the best possible prices.
