Growing up in the 90’s was so much fun, I know I’m biased but it’s got to have been one of the best decades to grow up in, right? I’ve been reminiscing about some of the things we loved back then, so here’s 10 things all 90’s kids will remember…
1. Disposable cameras
Remember the days when you just snapped away on a disposable camera and had absolutely no idea how the photos had turned out until you took them to be developed? I don’t imagine that would work very well now for blogging and Instagram, haha!
2. Inflatable everything
Inflatable chairs, sofas, footstools and even bags! I remember having an inflatable backpack for school which was just asking for someone to pop it, wasn’t it?
3. Spice Girls
If you weren’t the Spice Girls biggest fan, were you even a 90’s kid? I remember the days when we would make up dance routines to Spice Girls songs at school and then perform them in assembly!

4. Video rental
Movie night was very different back in the 90’s. It involved a trip to your local Blockbuster to hire a video. Seems like a bit too much effort now, doesn’t it?
5. Kids TV
I got talking about 90’s kids TV on Instagram a couple of weeks ago and it brought back so many memories. Here are a few of my favourites – Fun House, The Queens Nose, Demon Headmaster, Bodger and Badger, Round the Twist. What was your favourite kids TV show back in the 90’s?
6. Recording your own radio show
Remember listening to the top 40 on a Sunday and taping all of your favourite songs? And then making it into your very own radio show? Ahh, those were the days!
7. Tamagotchis
I think I’d still feel just as excited now if I got my hands on a Tamagotchi! If you don’t remember them, they were little digital pets that you had to feed, walk and clean up after. They usually ended up dying no matter what you did, but still it was fun while it lasted.
8. Beanie Babies
I literally had hundreds of TY Beanies Babies, it was a serious obsession of mine. And does anyone remember the mini Beanie Babies that came in McDonalds Happy Meals?
9. Walkman
I remember feeling like the coolest kid around with my red Walkman and headphones. Now it would just feel a bit like carrying a brick around, wouldn’t it? It’s crazy how much technology has changed.
10. Pogs
Another 90’s kids collectable, Pogs! Who remember them? I can’t for the life of me remember how you actually played the game, I think it was more about the collection for me.
