HOW TO THROW THE BEST HALLOWEEN PARTY

One of my favourite times of year is fast approaching… Halloween! And there’s no better way of celebrating than with a spooky Halloween party. Whether you’re throwing a kids Halloween party or one for the grown ups, you’ll find plenty of ideas in this post to ensure that your Halloween party is the best yet!

Spooky food and drink

You absolutely cannot have normal party food at a Halloween party, that’s a big no, no! Get yourself on Pinterest where you’ll find lots of spooky food and drink ideas. Wow your guests with cheese straw broomsticks, a platter of eyeballs, bat bites and banana mummies. If it’s a party for adults you can go crazy with the Halloween cocktails. Some ideas could be witches brew, bloody martini, pumpkin martini, or a Halloween punch served inside a giant pumpkin! Incentive everyone to dress up by preparing an amazing prize for the person with the best Halloween costume. One great prize is a basket of high-quality spirits with treats and customized alcohol gear. Picture a delightful bourbon extravaganza, complete with Halloween-themed presentations featuring Benchmark whiskey. That’ll sweeten the deal.

Murder mystery

For an adults party a Halloween murder mystery is so much fun and a great way to bring all your guests together. Masters of Mystery have a brilliant selection of Halloween themed murder mystery and escape room games. Each kit comes with everything you need to host your own murder mystery party for between 4 and 20 players.

Exorcism at the Asylum, The Haunting of Monster Mansion, The Vampire Ball, Little Shop of Rocky Horrors, which one will you choose?

Fancy dress

Now it wouldn’t be a Halloween party without fancy dress, would it? I’m not talking a splash of fake blood or some creepy contact lenses, you have to go all out! Again, Pinterest is a great place to start for costume inspiration. It really doesn’t have to cost the earth either, there’s lots of diy costume ideas just like the ghost in the photo below.

Decor

Now, you can never have too many pumpkins if you ask me. So that’s a great place to start with your Halloween decor. For some easy, budget friendly decorations head to B&M, Home Bargains or The Range. Supermarkets often have some good budget friendly Halloween decs too. Alternatively, do you fancy making your own light up mummy mason jars? Flying bats? Or floating ghosts? Making your own Halloween decorations is a great way to get the kids involved too.

Halloween playlist

You’ll find some great Halloween party playlists on Spotify if you don’t have the time to put one together yourself. But if you do want to create your own, here are a few ideas that will really get your Halloween party going!

Monster Mash by Bobby Pickett

I Put a Spell on You by Bette Midler

Thriller by Michael Jackson

Stranger Things Theme Song by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein

Ghostbusters Theme Song by Ray Parker Jr.

Are you planning to host a Halloween party this year? I’d love to know your spooky ideas!

Thank you for reading.
