*This is a sponsored post*

Are you planning a London staycation soon? Maybe you’re looking for ideas for things to do while you’re there? Then look no further! Whether you’re travelling with friends, family or on your own, below you will find activities to suit everyone. London is an incredible city with so much on offer, whether you’ve been 20 times before, or this is your first visit, there will always be something new to do.

Read on for 10 of the best things to do while visiting London…

1. Harry Potter Tour

If you’re a Harry Potter fan (and who isn’t?!) then this one is for you! This Harry Potter tour will take you on a guided walk of all the filming locations across London. You’ll get to see the tube station ticket barriers featured when Harry visits the ministry of magic, the visitors’ entrance to the ministry as seen in the fifth movie, and you’ll go under the bridge destroyed by flying terrorist demons in the sixth movie. Sounds amazing, right?

2. Visit Buckingham Palace

It doesn’t matter how many times I visit London, I always have to go and say hello to the Queen at Buckingham Palace. It’s also a must if you have children. My kids loved seeing where the Queen lives. It’s pretty cool to watch the changing of the guards too, so try and time your visit with this if you can.

3. Tower of London

I’m slightly embarrassed to admit that I’ve never been to the Tower of London. It’s definitely something that’s on our list the next time we visit with the children.

4. Music Tours

Why not explore London’s musical heritage by taking a music tour? It could be a Beatles walking tour, David Bowie, George Michael, or maybe Elton John? There’s so many options to choose from and it’s something a little bit different while you’re visiting the city.

5. Tower Bridge

It wouldn’t be a trip to London without visiting Tower Bridge. You may decide to just go and see the famous landmark and take some photos. Or maybe you’ll take a tour inside, where you’ll discover the stories behind the engineering and people that built London’s defining landmark.

6. Natural History Museum

This is another great one for kids. See the famous Dippy the Diplodocus, who is back at the museum for a short visit. There’s various family events on over the summer holidays too so it’s definitely worth a visit, especially if you’ve never been before.

7. The View from the Shard

This is another one that’s on our bucket list for our next London staycation. Climb up to the top of the world famous Shard skyscraper and take in the amazing views of London.

“Regularly voted as one of London’s greatest tourist attractions we offer the best views of the city from the top of London’s tallest skyscraper. Visit The View from The Shard and celebrate London with breath-taking 360° panoramic views day and nights.”

8. See a Musical

Did you even visit London if you didn’t go to a West End show?! Currently on is Frozen the musical, which is great for kids, Jersey Boys and Wicked. We went to see Wicked many years ago and loved it, I would highly recommend it.

9. Shopping

Of course when in London you just have to do a spot of shopping. Harrods, Liberty and Covert Garden are all a must. If you’re with children then Hamley’s is great but be prepared to spend a small fortune…

10. London Eye

And finally, the London Eye. I’ve never been on the London Eye but would really like to as the views look pretty impressive. Tickets for the London Eye are priced at £32.50 (online price) for 30 minutes.

Have you visited London recently? What else would you recommend doing?
