Me and James managed to sneak in some kid free time last weekend, my mum had the kids for us and so we went off to Manchester for the day.
We’d kindly been given tickets to the Spin Cycling Festival, which was held at the Victoria Warehouse. James is really into mountain biking so I knew this would be an event he’d really enjoy.
There were some amazing food stalls there too, including indian and malaysian food. We opted for sweet potato fries and a mushroom sourdough pizza, yummy!
One of the festival sponsors was Bikmo, who are a cycling insurance provider created by cyclists, for cyclists. They have just launched a new insurance product; Bikmo Go, which has been designed specifically for urban and commuting cyclists. You can get 5% off with the discount code ‘BikmoGO’.
There was also a coffee festival on at the same time, Cup North which meant coffee and cake for me! I had the best coffee I have ever had from J. Atkinson & Co, honestly it was amazing! And we also had some delicious cakes from Cakesmiths, including lemon and polenta cake, sounds odd but tasted great!
For anyone who’s interested, the next Spin Cycling Festival is being held in London, at the Old Truman Brewery on 20 – 22 May.
After the festival we drove into Manchester city centre had a wander around and did some shopping, and yes I went in Primark again *hangs head in shame*.
On the way back home we stopped at a country pub and had a glass of wine outside in the beer garden. It was a great day, lovely to spend some quality time together just the two of us.
Thanks for reading.
