After going on our first family holiday abroad in May this year, we have seriously got the travelling bug now and can’t wait for our next adventure! So we’ve put together a list of all the places we’d like to visit as a family over the next few years…

1. Cyprus

We’ve been looking at the possibility of going on holiday during October half term and Cyprus looks like a really good option as the weather is still warm at that time of year. I’ve heard a lot of great things about Cyprus but yet we have never been, the beaches look incredible, I can just imagine the kids building sandcastles and splashing in the sea there.

2. Portugal

Portugal is one of those places that I’ve always wanted to visit but have never gotten round to. As well as beautiful beaches, Portugal has some amazing aquariums that I know the kids would love to visit. There is also Lisbon Zoo and Badoca Safari Park, which Evie in particular would love! There is so much to see and do in Portugal it would be the ideal destination for us as we don’t like to sit still for very long!

3. Florida

Of course I couldn’t have missed Florida off our bucket list, could I? Me and James went to Orlando back in 2009, we visited Disney World and we would love to return with the children, they would love it! There are some great discount Disney vacation packages available at the moment. We stayed in a villa last time we went, and we would do the same again next time. Clickstay is an independently owned holiday home rental website with adverts for thousands of holiday homes in countries around the world. They have over 300 villas listed in Orlando alone, starting from just £261 per week. Staying in a villa would be perfect for us as it would give us plenty of space, the kids could have their own rooms and of course a pool! Win, win!

4. Paris

We are hopefully going to visit Paris next year and take the kids to Disneyland. Me and James went three times pre-children! But obviously now we have the kids, it would be great to take them to experience the Disney magic.

5. Italy

I’ve wanted to visit Italy for the longest time, it just looks so so beautiful and not to mention the amazing food! I have a couple of friends who have been to Sorrento and have said how lovely it is. At first glance Sorrento doesn’t appear to be much of a family destination but having done some research into it, there are some great family hotels and plenty for families to see and do.

Have you visited any of these places?

Thanks for reading.

Oh, the travel bug…I have heard about that. Sadly I have not ventured far , but definitely set a goal and go places. Now that you have done the one trip with the little ones, you know sort of how it will be. You have some wonderful places on your bucket list 🙂 My hubby has been to Portugal a couple times, on business, says it is amazing. My brother has been to Florida, says it is hot but great. Have a lovely day. x

We went to sorrento a couple of years ago to a friend’s wedding and lived it . It’s a very beautiful place to visit, yummy food and the Italian people are all out about families and just adore the children x

My friend went for a wedding, and another friend for her honeymoon, sounds like a lovely place x

Ah this is lovely – I vote Portugal as I love it there and is brilliant with kids! We also went to Capri a few years back and it was the best holiday I’ve ever been on…idyllic and the food was amazing. I’m not sure I could face it with toddlers though as there are a gazillion steps! #sharingthebloglove

Haha yes steps and toddlers are not the best combination. I’m really thinking Portugal for next summer now x

Sadly we simply don’t travel as much now and I do miss it. Last time we did Florida was Miami for my 40th (a while ago ahem), I used to live in Paris for 5 years but the last time we went was 2005 before we moved to Malta and Italy I’ve done a fair few times the last time being Sicily which is just amazing to be recommended. I would choose Greece over Cyprus though I must admit. Happy travelling! #CoolMumClub

You’ve done lots of travelling then! We went to Miami too back in 2009, not sure I’d go back though as I felt like we stood out like sore thumbs! We went to Corfu in May so we wanted to go somewhere a bit different next, that was the thinking behind Cypus, and the weather in Oct x

We haven’t ventured abroad with our three yet. I don’t think my oldest would cope with the flight, the noises and being restricted to sitting in the same place for any length of time! We went to a couple of the places before the kids arrived and loved Italy. I would love to go to Cyprus one day too! Enjoy!

Max was OK on the flight when we went to Corfu (4 hour flight) but he was a nightmare on the way home, I ended up in tears 🙁 Luckily the lady in front realised I was struggling and started chatting to him which helped x

I’m desperate to travel again! Our last family holiday abroad was in 2008! My daughters were only 2 years and 6 months old and we went to Majorca which was great. Now we have three children we just haven’t been able to afford it. Before kids we visited the Greek islands and Malta which are all gorgeous places. I’d love to go to Italy and also have a desire to see mountains! Sarah #PicknMix

I quite fancy Malta too. I hope you get to go on holiday soon, I hear the prices go up a lot with 3 children x

  7. July 15, 2016 / 3:47 pm

I want to do all of this and more. To date we have been on one family hols to Copenhagen which was murder so think the bucket list is on hold for the time being. Sob! Thanks for linking up to #coolmumclub lovely xx

Anything with my kids is hard work so they might as well be hard work in a sunny country than at home, haha x

  8. July 15, 2016 / 6:32 pm

I love Portugal and have been several times, the most recent in May. It’s a lovely family destination. Oh Italy, I have a love affair with Italy and Sorrento is definitely next on my list to visit when we go back. I really want another holiday after reading this. Oooh you’re really making me want to go to Portugal! Maybe next summer…x

I am itching to go to Florida and Disney World! I had fantastic holidays there as a kid, but my husband isn’t so keen (I think just as he didn’t go!). He’s relenting though! Just need to wait until kids are the right kind of age (still a bit little for it I think!). I adore Italy – I think although nowhere seems particularly family friendly, the Italians just love kids so much that it makes the whole thing so much easier – they treated our little toddler like a king! I’d like to wait until the kids are a bit older before we go to Florida, I’d like them to remember it because we might only go once as it’s sooo expensive! I think we’ll do Disneyland Paris first x

  10. July 16, 2016 / 8:58 pm

It’s a great idea to have a bucket list. I’ve been to Paris a few times, not with kids though. One place I’d love to go is Croatia. Cyprus and Portugal look lovely. I’ve been to Disney Land with the kids for the day and had a great time, but not been to Florida. Alison x #FortheloveofBLOG

Canada is high on my list and Norway, as lovely as beach holidays are for me its the Northern Lights I so want to see 🙂 Thanks for linking up to #PicknMix

Oh yes, Canada! Would love to see the Northern Lights too x

I love traveling but find it hard now with three kids a lot of places don’t accommodate that many. Florida would be amazing one day. Thanks for linking to #picknmix

Ah that is rubbish that a lot of places don’t accommodate for three children! x

So many lovely places to visit aren’t there? This is a lovely list and I can definitely recommend Florida. Italy is also always a winning destination as a family because their whole culture is geared around families and they love kids. You’d feel very welcome there.
