On Monday me and Evie decided to take a trip to the Botanical Gardens here in Sheffield. The sun was shining and Evie didn’t have preschool so it was the perfect opportunity to get out and have some fun, just the two of us.
Despite living in Sheffield all of my life, I’m embarrassed to admit that I have only been to the Botanical Gardens once or twice before. It seems to be one of those hidden gems that you tend to overlook, but it really is a beautiful place.
I’d never been in the conservatory before so we made sure we checked it out this time. The building dates back to 1836 so it’s a really interesting and beautiful building.
Despite the sunshine it was a really windy day which cut our outing a little short. So after grabbing a quick cuppa in the cafe (and a fruit shoot), we headed home.
We will definitely be going back over the summer with Max to explore all the bits that we missed, and considering it’s a whopping 19 acres I’m pretty sure there was plenty we did miss!
Here are the snaps from our morning…
Thanks for reading.
It looks gorgeous! I actually clicked on this post thinking it was the gardens in the middle of Sheffield – I think they’re called the Winter Gardens? Anyway, the botanical gardens look fabulous too. I always think Sheffield is a city of hidden gems.
Yes, the Winter Gardens! That’s another place I’ve only been to a couple of times, I rarely go into the City Centre. Do you know Sheffield well? x
Oh these photos are beautiful! Sheffield is too far for us to venture to but we have a more local botanical gardens and I’ve never thought to take my toddler there, but she might enjoy it. #KCACOLS
