5 ITEMS EVERY NURSERY SHOULD HAVE

When your baby arrives, you’ll want to make sure that your nursery is stocked with everything it needs to be a happy and safe place for them. Whether you’re shopping for your own nursery or helping out with the nursery of another family member, here are five essential items that every nursery should have. Keep in mind that these items will vary based on your baby’s age – if they’re younger than 6 months old, they won’t need an actual bed or changing table, but they will still need a crib and diapers!

First Night Home Set

During your first night home with baby, you’ll be both exhausted and excited. As a new parent, it can be hard to know what you really need during that first big day and night with your newborn. Make sure you have everything you need ahead of time so that nothing falls through the cracks when it comes to preparing for a new baby—especially when it comes to essentials like feeding supplies. There are some items everyone needs for baby’s first homecoming, like diapers and wipes, but other things may be more specific to your household or unique circumstances (like additional formula or a sleep sack), so don’t feel pressured into buying everything on every list of baby must-haves. You know your family best!

Diaper Pail

When it comes to nursery must-haves, a diaper pail is high on my list. Let’s face it—diapers can smell terrible, and having one spot that you can quickly toss in dirty diapers is a total time saver. There are lots of options when it comes to picking out a diaper pail; make sure that you get one with a tight lid so your little one doesn’t have to deal with the smell of soiled diapers!

Baby monitor

A baby monitor allows you to keep an eye on your child without being in constant contact with them. What does a baby nursery need? A baby monitor can give you peace of mind during nap time or when your child is sleeping in their crib. There are even monitors for multiples so that you can keep an eye on more than one room. Even if you’re at home, it’s comforting to be able to check on what’s going on while still doing other things around the house. When choosing a monitor, look for features like sound activation, adjustable camera angles, and night vision capabilities—all of which can come in handy as your child grows up and starts moving around (and perhaps even going to sleep!) on his or her own.

Storage bins

You don’t have to spend a fortune on nursery storage items, but you do need to make sure you have sufficient bins. Storage bins are great for storing all kinds of baby-related goods. From clothing and blankets to toys and bottles, it’s important to keep everything organized in one place. Bins can also be useful if your baby is sleeping in your room: They can be used as makeshift nightstands and offer a convenient way to store extra diapers, wipes, and burp cloths while keeping them close by during middle-of-the-night changes or feedings. You might consider these nursery storage baskets next time you’re out shopping for bins.

Crib sheets

Making sure your baby is comfortable at night will help him or her sleep well, but crib sheets that don’t fit right can result in uncomfortable nights and days. That’s why making sure that your nursery has some good quality crib sheets is a must-have item for any new parent.

There are various items that you can place in your baby’s nursery to help make your little one feel comfortable and loved. It doesn’t matter if you’re expecting a girl or a boy, they deserve all of these items because they are essential to growing up healthy and happy. As your baby grows older, you can even switch out some of these items for more suitable ones; however, most of them will remain useful throughout their infancy.
