I LOVE talking baby names, even though we won’t be having anymore children it’s still fun to talk names, isn’t it? I recently made a video of our favourite names that we love, but won’t be using, you can watch the video here…
For anyone that doesn’t already know, we have two children – Max and Evie. We really like names that are a little bit different, but not too unusual, if that makes sense?!
Another name we considered for Max was Harry, which is a lovely name but I am so glad that we didn’t go with it now as it’s just a little bit too common. Max’s middle name is James, which is his dad’s name and I think the two names work really well together.

Evie was very nearly a Sophia, which was a name we loved at the time. She definitely suits the name Evie though so I am glad we went with it. Evie’s middle name is Florence and we did consider it as her first name for a while but I didn’t really like the idea of it being shortened to Flo. I didn’t think about the possibility of it being shortened to Florrie or even Flossie instead, which are both such cute names so part of me kind of regrets not just calling her Florence!
I know a lot of people are interested in the meaning being names but I honestly don’t even know the meanings of my children’s names, it just isn’t something that’s important to me. Having just googled it, I’ve found out that Evie means ‘life’ or ‘living one’ and Max means ‘greatest’. You learn something new every day!
Evie is number 47 on this list of 2017 top baby names, and Max is 45. Where are your children’s names on the list?
