Confidence is not supposed to be fickle, but for some people it is. Some people are really strong in their confidence to the point where it takes a lot to shake them and the way that they feel about themselves. Other people are not so lucky, and their confidence is a little easier to rattle, or lose altogether. If the latter applies to you and you are currently struggling to get back on track with your confidence, then you are in the right place. Down below, we are going to be taking a look at some of the things that you can do to get back to where you were before. Are you ready to fight for yourself? Because if you’re not, then this isn’t going to work.

Have Some You Time

While you might not think that this is massively important, having you time certainly is. It’s easy to lose yourself in the hustle and bustle of life, which is why some time to relax is always going to be good for you. If you have the opportunity to take some time for yourself, then ensure that you do. This is especially important if you are finding yourself feeling a little lost, or if you are struggling to remember who you are.

Having some you time is going to look different from person to person, and that is completely okay. The things that appeal to you might not appeal to other people, but that doesn’t matter because it’s all about how you feel. Some people like to spend their free time at the salon, some people like to just spend their free time completing their own skincare routine. It’s really all about whatever works best for you and makes you feel good, so keep that in mind.

Sort Your Hair

Is your hair bothering you? When you look in the mirror, how do you feel about your hair? If the answer isn’t fabulous, then this is going to need sorting. There are plenty of reasons that people don’t like their hair, and it’s okay to want to change it. Perhaps the length isn’t what you want it to be, perhaps you don’t like the color and you want something a little different, or maybe it’s gone funny for a reason that you can’t explain. Whatever it is, it can be sorted.

Think about what you want your hair to look like, and then speak to a hair stylist. It’s important that you don’t try to fix your hair yourself as there are professionals out there for a reason. Have a consultation with someone that has good reviews in your area, and see what they say. They might advise you in a different direction than you were going for yourself based on the state of your hair, but it’s your choice in the end.

Buy A New Wardrobe

One of the things that can help you get back on track with your confidence is purchasing a new wardrobe. Sometimes it’s the things that you wear that are really having an impact on how you feel, so getting some new pieces is going to make you feel so much better. Dressing for your body type, your skin tone and other factors can really help you feel better about the way that you look, as you will then be accentuating your best features, and hiding those that you are a little more insecure about.

It might be best to speak to a professional about this as they will be able to give you the advice that you need to make a real difference. They might suggest pieces that you have never worn before such as a corset for certain outfits, so be prepared to try something new. At the end of the day, the goal is to feel confident and comfortable in what you are wearing, so if you can achieve that, that’s a win!

Focus On Diet

Something else you need to look into when it comes to confidence levels is what you are eating. There may be certain foods in your diet that are contributing to your lack of confidence or other mental health issues. If you enjoy a lot of junk food, this will give you a temporary high. However, these foods are high in fat, sugar, and calories so in the long run you are putting yourself at risk of weight related illnesses such as diabetes or heart disease. If you don’t know how to fix your diet then speak to a nutritionist who will be able to help.

Get A Workout

How much exercise do you currently fit into your daily schedule? If the answer is not a great deal then you may need to re-evaluate this. Any type of exercise, from desk yoga to running will give you such a boost. This is due to the happy hormones being released when you exercise, so you will have a smile on your face even if you feel like fainting. If you don’t want to join a gym, and let’s face it there are far more interesting places to be, then you could do a home workout. Thanks to the Covid lockdown a lot of workouts became available to follow online and they are still there. Alternatively, if you want to join an exercise class but you are too shy then you could ask one of your family members or friends to come along with you.

Hit The Town

Have your friends invited you out for drinks? If you keep putting them off because you are worried about going out then this will not be doing wonders for your confidence and mental health. Every so often take them up on their offer of going out, you don’t have to say yes every time. Getting all dressed up will make you feel a million dollars which in turn will give you a confidence boost. You may not know you need the boost but having your friends tell you that you look stunning might be exactly what you need.

Do Something You Enjoy

Is there something that you enjoy doing in your spare time, something that puts a smile on your face? This could be anything from singing in a choir to creating arts and crafts that you sell online. As long as it makes you feel good then that is having a lasting impact on your confidence levels. Make sure nobody is telling you that you can’t do something as this will knock your levels even if you don’t let it bother you. Think about what you would like to do and look into it, do your research. There will be something in the area or surrounding neighborhoods for you to get involved with.

Stop Comparing Yourself

Finally, you need to stop comparing yourself to other people. This could be people you know such as friends and family or those you see on social media pages. You are your own unique person and if we were supposed to be created exactly the same as other people, we would have been. Make your own life and don’t imitate or wish for others, as you never truly know what someone is going through or what their life has been like. If you see a friend who is slightly slimmer than you, don’t wish to be like them as they may have gone through eating disorders to get to where they are now.

We hope you found this article helpful and that it gave you some useful ideas on how you can get your confidence back on track. You must always remember that it is okay not to be okay, don’t pressure yourself into being happy and smiley every minute of the day.
