This is my first month taking part in The Siblings Project and I am so excited to get started with it. It’s a fantastic way to documents my little peoples bond and an excuse to get my camera out and get snapping.
If you haven’t already heard about The Siblings Project, it was started by Lucy at Dear Beautiful and is basically a challenge to photograph your children together once every month. You can read more about it here.
Generally Max and Evie have a bit of a love/hate relationship, they can be the best of friends one minute and be having a full on fight the next. But I have found this month that they seem to be friends rather than enemies for the most part.
We had the Easter school holidays this month which meant that they had two whole weeks in each others company and they actually got on pretty well. Evie loves having her big brother around and she really does miss him when he’s at school all day.
One of my favourite things is when we pick Max up from school and Evie will always give him a huge hug, it’s the sweetest thing. No matter how tired or grumpy she has been during the afternoon she always perks up as soon as Max is home.
This past week things have changed a lot for us as Evie has started preschool and it’s been lovely seeing how Max has reacted this. He’ll ask her every day if she’s been to preschool and if she enjoyed it, and they even look for each other at play times. I can definitely see the caring big brother coming out in him.
I also love when me and Evie go shopping and she picks a treat, usually a Kinder Egg, and she will always insist on getting one for Max too, she’s always thinking about him.
Evie certainly looks up to Max and I am finding more and more that Evie will copy things that Max does, which can be cute but it isn’t always a good thing! Recently Max (finally!) cracked doing stand up wees and so Evie came down stairs the other day and announced that she too had done a stand up wee! As hilarious as that seems, it’s not so funny when you’re the one who has to clean it up!
