I love makeup, not just that it makes me feel more confident but I just genuinely enjoy putting my makeup on. I wear makeup most days, up until a few weeks ago it used to be every single day without fail but recently I’ve started trying to have the odd day off to let my skin breath a little.
I thought I’d share with you what I wear on my face on an average day, this may seem like a lot to those of you who rarely wear makeup, or wear minimal makeup and to others it may not seem like much.
It takes me about 10 – 15 minutes to do my makeup, since starting to do the school run I’ve had to get pretty quick at applying it as I just don’t have much time to spare in a morning.
Foundation
I currently use the L’Oreal Infallible 24-hr Matte foundation in the shade 10 porcelain. I have quite oily skin so I find it really difficult to find a foundation that I like, this one is by far the best I’ve tried but it definitely isn’t perfect. If anyone has any suggestion for a good foundation for oily skin then please do let me know!
Powder
For years I used the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder simply because it says the word matte on it, therefore I assumed it must be good for oily skin. Well a couple of months ago when I ran out and went to buy some more I decided to try something different so I picked this up and I’m so glad I did. Honestly, I absolutely love this powder. I’m not going to say it keeps me matte all day long because, in truth I don’t think any product out there could do that for me, but this comes pretty close. And for just £6.99, it’s a bargain.
Blusher
I’m currently using a Mac blusher in the shade dame. It’s a very pale pink which is perfect for my very fair skin. It’s not cheap at £18.50 but I’ve had this one for almost a year and it hardly looks like I’ve used any, it really does last ages.
Eyebrows
Naturally my eyebrows are very light and so I dye them to match my hair colour. They are also very sparse so I fill them in using these Maybelline brow products. I use the Browsatin first and then set them in place with the Browdrama. However, since attending a Benefit brow event a couple of weeks ago, I will be trying out some of their products once these have run out. Although Benefit products are much more expensive, I do think they are worth paying extra for.
Mascara
I actually got this mascara in a set that my mum got me for Christmas, it’s not a full size one though so it’s just about empty now but I will definitely be repurchasing it as I love it. I had been using the L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Hippie Mascara alongside this and although it is great for length and volume, I found it transferred on to my eyelid very quickly as I have quite hooded eyes, I didn’t get this at all with the Benefit mascara.
Lipstick
I don’t tend to wear lipstick everyday, certainly not if I’m just around the house and doing the school run. But if I’m out and about I might pop a bit on and it’s usually one of these two; Mac Brave or Rimmel Kate Moss 37. The Mac lipstick is a nude shade so great for everyday and the Rimmel one is perfect for Summer as it’s such a bright, fun shade.
I’d love to know how much makeup you wear on a day to day basis? Does this seem like a lot to you?

That blush by MAC looks so pretty as do those two lipsticks 🙂
Gorgeous aren’t they. Thanks for reading 🙂
This is so interesting Emma. I must look into the brow products, as that is an issue for me, and at the moment just using a pencil which I got from Avon awhile back. Lipstick is something I rarely use, only if going out …
I do tend to apply the basics of make-up on pretty quickly as time is always of the essence (LOL) Great products ! 🙂

I need to try Dior lipsticks! x
I really need to learn how to do make-up well, you’d think by the age of 33 I would have a clue, but I so don’t! I have combination skin, which foundation wise is a nightmare. Thanks for linking up to #PicknMix hon

I’ve still got a lot to learn when it comes to makeup, I tend to just stick to what I know x
