Ever since I had Evie 4 years ago, I have had nothing but problems with my skin. The funny thing is, I never had acne as a teenager or even after having Max, but now at almost 30 I have very oily and acne prone skin.
I have tried lots of different things over the last few years; many different skin care products, wearing no makeup, drinking more water, exercise, changing my diet, different hormonal contraceptives but nothing has worked.
I had heard a lot about Proactiv+, and had browsed their website a few times but was unsure about making a purchase if it wasn’t going to work, as nothing else had worked for me. But I then saw that they were looking for bloggers to review their products so of course I jumped at the chance!
So I’m now trying the Proactiv+ 3 step system for 90 days and I’m going to be sharing my results with you all along the way. In this post I’m sharing some before pictures and talking about how I’m finding the products after using them for one week. I’ll then update you half way through and then again at the end of the 90 days.
It’s really hard for me to share these before pictures and I’ve debated deleting them and leaving this part out completely. But, I think it’s the best way for you to see my results at the end of the 90 days. So, here goes…
These photos were taken without makeup, about an hour after washing and moisturising my skin and as you can see my face is already quite oily. I also have a few spots, although this isn’t my skin at it’s worst I must admit. As you can see I have very visible pores, blackheads, spots and some scarring.
3 Step System
The Proactiv+ 3 step system consists of the skin smoothing exfoliator facial cleanser, pore targeting treatment facial cream and the complexion perfecting hydrator facial moisturiser. Each step is used twice a day, morning and night. There is also a skin purifying mask included in the kit, which can be used two or three times a week.
The 30 day kit is priced at £19.99.
I have been using Proactiv+ for about a week now and am pleased with the results so far. I had read that your skin can often get worse before it gets better when you first start using the products, but I haven’t had this. I’m hoping I will avoid that part completely as I can already see and feel a difference in my skin.
I have had a couple of new spots since I started using the system but they aren’t as big and angry as usual. My skin is also feeling very soft and smooth which is great as it hasn’t felt like this in years! I can also see a difference in my pores, which I don’t think are as the visible as usual. The biggest improvement I’m seeing is that the oiliness in my skin has almost completely gone. Before, my skin would look oily within an hour of applying my makeup and I would need to apply powder to try and mattify the shine a couple of times a day, but now I don’t have to do that at all!
I’m excited to see how my skin changes over the next few weeks of using Proactiv+ and I will update you all again in about 6 weeks time.
Have you ever tried Proactiv+? What did you think to it?
Thanks for reading.
