With the weather finally warming up, it’s got me thinking about summer holidays. While we won’t be going abroad this year, we are hoping to get away for a little UK staycation. The sunnier weather has, however, made me panic about the lack of summer clothes in my wardrobe! Luckily, Very.co.uk came to the rescue with some pieces for me and Evie that will be perfect for a staycation.
Very.co.uk
I’m sure you’re all very familiar with Very.co.uk, but if you’re not, let me tell you a little bit about them. Very.co.uk is the home of over 2000 brands, plus they have their own collections too. At Very you’ll find big names such as Burberry, Nike, Adidas, Mango, North Face, Gucci, Levi’s and more. As well as fashion, you’ll also find toys, sports equipment, jewellery, homewares, furniture and electricals. So it really is a one stop shop!
“We’re here for the millions of online shoppers across the UK and Ireland – and especially for families. Across fashion, electrical, home, and more, we sell everything our 4.4 million customers could need, except food. And our flexible payment options, which are provided responsibly via our Very Pay platform and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, help our customers manage their household budgets.”

Kids fashion
My daughter Evie absolutely refuses to dress in anything remotely girly these days so it was good to see plenty of unisex options available at Very. Evie chose this North Face tshirt which is really versatile and will go with most of her outfits throughout summer.

Evie also picked out some Mango cargo shorts in light beige, which she assures me are very comfortable. We also chose her some Nike trainers, which she’s been wanting for a while so she’s very pleased with them. They are a similar style to the Nike Dunks, but a bargain at just £40.

Women’s fashion
The first outfit I picked out centered around this green twill jacket from the Lucy Mecklenburgh collection. As soon as I saw it, I knew it would be a great staple in my summer wardrobe. It’s the perfect spring/summer colour and it’s lightweight so is ideal for those cooler summer days.

I paired the jacket with these white ripped jeans from the V by Very collection. You can’t go wrong with a pair of white jeans in summer if you ask me.
And for shoes I went for these chunky black sandals by Schuh. These are also available in white and will be great to wear with most of my outfits through the summer months. They are very comfy too, I haven’t taken them off since they arrived!

Now it wouldn’t be summer fashion without a white dress, would it? I couldn’t resist this beautiful puff sleeve midi dress by Accessorize. It’s so pretty and I like that it can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. It would look great with the green jacket pictured above too.

Another summer staple for me is a straw bag. I have a few large straw bags but I was definitely missing a smaller one in my collection. This one is by Mango and it works beautifully with both of the above outfits. I like how the black detail ties in with the black sandals.
And finally, to finish the outfit off I went for the Katie Loxton Valencia sunglasses. I love the shape and the gold detailing on these. They will be getting a lot of wear this summer, I am sure.

Both me and Evie are over the moon with our gorgeous new summer clothes from Very.co.uk. There’s so much to choose from on their website, from a vast range of brands and at great prices. Now all we need to do is to book that summer holiday!
Do you have a summer holiday planned this year? What will you be packing?
