UTAMA SPICE REVIEW | SUSTAINABLE LIVING PRODUCTS

I’m always on the look out for new sustainable brands to try so I was pleased to learn about Utama Spice recently. They very kindly sent me some of their all natural products to test out. Read on to find out more about the brand and their range of skincare products…

Utama Spice

Utama Spice is a natural skincare company based in Bali. Founded in 1989, they apply Bali’s traditional herbal knowledge to create products that use only 100% natural ingredients. As a mum to two children with very delicate skin I try to use only natural ingredients where possible.

Utama Spice have a fantastic range of products which includes shampoo, body mists, face serum, lip balms, diffusers and pure essential oils.

“We started small and we like it that way. We adhere to the Balinese cultural concept of Tri Hita Karana, which commits us to respecting and working harmoniously with humanity, nature and the divine. As a business we understand the importance of the individual to maintain the health of the global village, so we strive to lower our impact on the environment.”

Peppermint castile soap

Believe me when I tell you that this smells incredible! I am a big fan of fresh, minty scents so this is right up my street. It’s ideal for use in the morning as a great way to wake yourself up. It lathers up beautifully and leaves me feeling clean and fresh and ready for the day ahead.

Utama Spice liquid soaps are a mixture of natural plant oils infused with plant extracts. They are 100% natural and contain no parabens, no artificial colours or fragrances. They are also formulated to be gentle on even the most sensitive of skin types, which is great for me as my children have eczema prone skin.

Mint crush coconut lotion

Another beautifully scented product that leaves my skin feeling clean, smooth and moisturised. Utama Spice coconut lotion, as the name suggests, is made with coconut oil to lock moisture in to the skin. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave my skin feeling greasy. This is also available in three other scents; island spice, lavender and lemongrass ginger.

Cocoa lip balm

The cocoa lip balm is made with cocoa butter, virgin coconut oil and beeswax to nourish and hydrate lips. I’ve been using this for a few days now and my lips are feeling moisturised and so much less dry than they were before, which is something I really struggle with. The lip balm is enriched with vanilla and cinnamon for a wonderful scent that is almost good enough to eat!

Calming soy candle

This 100% natural soy wax candle not only looks beautiful, but it smells incredible too. The rose quartz helps feelings of love, compassion and serenity and the blue lapis encourages an open mind. Scented with pure lavender oil, it’s the perfect way to unwind at the end of a busy day.

Clay face & body mask

This face and body mask is made with volcanic clay from Indonesia, as it is known for it’s disinfectant properties. It is rich in minerals that will detoxify and sooth the skin. It’s great for people who suffer with acne, like myself due to its purifying ingredients that cleanse deep down in the skin.

I have used the mask a couple of times so far and it has left my skin feeling fresh and soft. I can’t wait to use it again!

I have loved all of the Utama Spice products I have tried out, particularly the coconut lotion which has felt amazing on my skin. I love that all products are 100% natural and kind to me and my families skin. The range of products is great too, there’s so much choice and amazing scents. I can’t recommend checking out Utama Spice enough.
