Evie’s bedroom had been pink since before she was born. Don’t get me wrong, it was a lovely dusky pink shade which was special to me as it was our wedding colour. But, after nearly 4 years of pink we decided it was time for a change.
Before
I forgot to take some before pictures but luckily managed to find a couple of photos from about two years ago. This is pretty much what it still looked like, apart from the cot which is a bed now.
Evie’s room is a small box room and I felt like the pink was too dark and was making the room seem smaller, it was in desperate need of brightening up. I wanted to just go for completely white walls but my husband wanted grey, so we compromised on two white and two light grey walls and I think it works really well.
Just the newly painted walls and a few new accessories have made such a huge difference, I’m really pleased with how it’s looking and Evie loves it. But it isn’t finished yet, we’re hoping to complete part 2 in January which will mainly be new furniture and a couple more accessories.
At the moment her bed is just a cot bed size so a new bed is right at the top of our list now as she’s getting bigger. I have my heart set on a yellow one I’ve seem at George at Asda, I think the pop of colour would look amazing in her new room.
Most of her toys are in Max’s room currently as his room is huge so it’s kind of used as a bedroom/playroom for them both. But of course it would be nice for Evie to have some toys in her own room so we are hoping to get her a bigger wardrobe, with drawer space in the bottom so that we can get rid of her chest of drawers, which will free up so much space for her to play.
I’m also on the look out for some wall prints and a couple more cushions so if anyone has any suggestions of places to look please leave me a comment and let me know.

Absolutely love it! Our Bea’a room has been pink since before she was born too, we were so excited to be expecting a girl. I feel it’s time for a change too, she’s going to school next year and it is slightly babyish. Love the grey walls and would love to know where the wooden rainbow is from x

You sound just like us, we were excited to be having a girl after a boy so everything was pink! Evie starts reception next year too so I really felt like she needed something a bit more grown up. The rainbow was from Sainburys last year I think, not sure if they still do them but I do have a spare one I’d be happy to send to you x
Lovely. I love how colourful it is. Redecorating is so fun. I’m in the process of doing my son’s room and find it so fun.

Thank you. Yes it was Next last year! What size are you after as Evie has nearly outgrown this one. The rainbow was from Sainsbury’s last year I think, I’m not sure if they still do them but I’m sure there’s similar ones around 🙂 x
