GIRLS BEDROOM MAKEOVER | BEFORE & AFTER

bedroom

Evie’s bedroom has been finished for a few months now and I’m just getting round to sharing this post. I have lots of home content to share over the coming weeks and months, I’ve just gotten a bit behind. I think now that the main renovations are finished I’ve been enjoying having a break from it all, and I guess that includes writing about it too!

Here’s a reminder of what the room looked like when we first came to view the house…

Below is my initial moodboard for this space. I think it’s turned out fairly similar to this. I do prefer the wallpaper below to what we ended up going for, but it was just so expensive and our budget was rapidly running out at this point. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made with renovations.

Evie’s bedroom had built in wardrobes which we decided to keep, as they provide great storage that we very much needed. Other than that the room was completely gutted. New window, new electrics, re-plastering, painted, new radiator, wallpapered and brand new carpet. Here is what the room is looking like now…

I have to admit, I’m not entirely sold on the wallpaper and I am considering panelling that wall instead. It’s just an idea at this point and definitely not something we will be doing until next year. We need a break from decorating, that’s for sure!

We decided to paint Evie’s wardrobe and cupboard in Lick blue 03, which is a gorgeous light blue/green shade. We had it colour matched by Decorating Centre Online in an acrylic based paint which is fantastic. It’s really hard wearing and easy to clean.

We also decided to add some shelves above the cupboard in the alcove. We found some old scaffold boards in the garage when we moved in, so we cut them to size and sanded them to use as shelves. We then purchased some black brackets from Amazon and I’m really pleased with how they look.

The bedside table was a bargain from B&M but other than that everything else in here we already had. We brought the bed, mattress and headboard from the previous house. I did pick up a few cute accessories such as the ‘be reyt’ wall hanging and the prints. She has since decided that she hates pink with a passion though, so I’m not sure how long the ‘blah, blah, blah‘ print will be staying for!

If you would like to know where anything is from that I haven’t mention, give me a shout and I’ll do my best to find the link for you.

What do you think to Evie’s bedroom? Would you have done anything differently in this room? I would love to know your thoughts.

Thank you for reading.

I love what you have done with Evie’s bedroom. We are decorating my youngest girls room this week and she was so close to picking the same wallpaper. x
