It’s that time of year again when many of us are thinking about taking the kids pumpkin picking. It’s certainly one of our favourite autumn traditions! If you live in Sheffield, like us, you might be wondering where you can visit a pumpkin patch, so I’ve put together a list of 5 that are all within about 45 minutes of Sheffield.
Please check with each location whether booking is required and their opening times before setting off. Enjoy picking your pumpkins!
1. Farmer Copleys
Ravensknowle Farm, Pontefract Road, Pontefract, WF7 5AF
Farmer Copley’s is a popular pumpkin patch located in Pontefract. As well as 20 different varieties of pumpkin to choose from you’ll also find food stalls, fairground rides, story telling and more. Booking is required.

2. Wurzels Pumpkin Patch
Jumble Lane, Ecclesfield, Sheffield, S35 9XJ
Wurzels Pumpkin Patch in Ecclesfield, Sheffield is new this year. We visited last week, you can find out more about that here. Wurzels is a small pumpkin patch, but if you’re looking for somewhere close to home to pick your pumpkin then this place is a great option. Booking is required.

3. Eastfield Farm
Doncaster Road, Tickhill, Doncaster, DN11 9JD
Pumpkin picking is available at Eastfield Farm as well as their sister farm School Farm in Retford. There is a small cafe and farm shop on site at Eastfield and alpacas at School Farm! Booking is not required but do check their Facebook page for updates as it can get very busy.

4. Village Pumpkins PYO
Johnnygate Lane, Barlow, Dronfield, S18 7SE
Village Pumpkins is located in the small village of Barlow, between Sheffield and Chesterfield. Pumpkin prices are between £1 and £10 depending on size. As with Eastfield booking is not required but always check their Facebook page beforehand for updates as it gets busy close to Halloween.

5. Cannon Hall Farm
Bark House Lane, Cawthorne, Barnsley, S75 4AT
Cannon Hall is a great place for pumpkin picking as you also have the farm there too so it’s easy to make a day of it. Children even get a free pumpkin each! Tickets must be booked online in advance and are £6.95 per person.
