On Saturday we visited Farmer Copleys to do a spot of pumpkin picking! We’d never been before but had heard good things about it. So we decided to head over and check it out for ourselves. We ended up having a fantastic family day out!
For anyone who doesn’t know, Farmer Copleys is located in Pontefract so about a hours drive for us. The farm itself is really easy to find as it’s just off a main road so we found it easily. It was pretty busy on the day that we went so I’m glad we went when we did. As I imagine the next weekend and half term would have been extremely busy.
As well as pick your own pumpkins, there’s lots of other things to do at Farmer Copleys such as tractor rides, fun fair rides, pumpkin carving, farm animals, face painting and more.
There is a restaurants on the site but they were so busy that we couldn’t find anywhere to sit, so had to leave and go to McDonalds instead, what a shame! 😉 I did notice on their Facebook page that around midday is their busiest time so I think next year we’ll try and avoid that time and go later in the afternoon.
It’s completely free to get in to Farmer Copleys and you can have your pumpkin carved for free too, which I thought was really good. There is a charge for most other things though and pumpkin prices start from £2.50.
Thee are so many different varieties of pumpkins to pick – big ones, small ones, medium ones, blue, grey, white, orange, you name it Farmer Copleys probably have it!
Here’s a few photos I snapped during our visit…
The kids had a great time at Farmer Copleys and I can see it becoming a yearly tradition for us. What Halloween traditions do you and your family have?
Thanks for reading.
