Today we visited Yorkshire Lavender and oh my goodness it was so beautiful! It really is a photo takers paradise and thankfully the sun shone for us so I managed to get some lovely photos.
For anyone who doesn’t know, Yorkshire Lavender is a lavender farm in Terrington, York. Whether you just want to go to take pretty pictures like me or for a fun filled family day out, there is something for everyone.
Here’s what Yorkshire Lavender say…
Yorkshire Lavender now has hundreds of different lavender and herb varieties to admire around the lavender farm and to buy in our specialist plant nursery. In summer, the lavender with its stunning array of different colours, from white through a complete range of blues, lilacs to magnificent deep purples, along with the range of distinct and heady scents, is a wonderful experience.
As soon as we got there we headed to the tea room which is lovely and the food was delicious. They had a selection of lavender flavoured desserts available too which sounded yummy! The gift shop is right next to the tea room where you will find a huge range of lavender gifts – soap, bath bombs, dried lavender, shampoo, bubble bath, you name it they sell it!
After eating we headed out into the gardens and over to the lavender maze, which is brilliant fun for the kids. There’s lots of sculptures dotted around the farm too which my kids loved looking out for.
After taking a few more photos we took the kids over to the children’s play ground. It’s only small but it’s big enough for the kids to enjoy for a while and burn off some energy!
Here’s a few snaps from our afternoon at Yorkshire Lavender…
