remove pet hair

How to remove pet hair from carpets and furniture…

I know this isn’t the most exciting of blog posts, and especially if you don’t have pets yourself! But if I find a solution to a problem that works as well as this does, I just have to share it.

We’ve been dog owners for almost ten years now and dog fur is a big problem in our house. You hoover up and a couple of hours later there’s fur everywhere again, especially when they are moulting. It’s a never ending battle. Even the best vacuum cleaners designed to pick up pet hair don’t get it all. And then there’s the problem of fur on furniture if you let your dog on the sofa. We let Poppy on a blanket on the sofa but despite this it still gets covered in fur.

We’ve tried a few different vacuum cleaners over the years, different lint/hair rollers and removers but nothing really works, at least not very well. Then a couple of weeks ago I was on Instagram and somebody recommended using a window squeegee, which sounds crazy but I thought I’d give it a go anyway. I wish I could remember who it was that suggested this so that I could thank them, but I can’t for the life of me remember!

Trust me, this works wonders! We have an area of carpet by the door into our living room where Poppy likes to lay so I gave the window squeegee a go there and honestly I was both amazed and horrified at the amount of fur that came up! It works just as well on the sofa too and takes much less time that anything else I’ve ever tried.

Give it a try and let me know how you get on, I promise you will not be disappointed!
