Making Spooky Halloween Pets with Trunkaroo

Trunkaroo halloween

We are big Halloween fans in this house, so we were really excited when this months Trunkaroo box arrived and we discovered the Halloween theme. The kids couldn’t wait to get stuck in!

Trunkaroo is a monthly craft box subscription which comes with everything you need to help your children create, discover, imagine and experiment. Not only are these craft boxes fun and entertaining for children but they are educational too, with each activity having a strong focus on STREAM (Science, Technology Engineering, Art and Math).

As I mentioned above, this months Trunk has a Halloween theme so we received everything we needed to complete two spooky projects.

We all get a little bit scared sometimes. Whether it’s an unexplained bump in the night, a loud firework bang, an unwanted creepy crawly or a family member that loves nothing more than jumping out from behind corners! But spooky can be friendly too, that’s why this months Trunk is all about Spooky pets!

Friction fiends was our first project and here’s what we received in the box for this project…

The children loved constructing their bats and then racing them against each other. Not only was this activity great for their motor skills but it was good for their imagination and experimentation too.

Our second project was pompom monster making! Here’s what we received in the Trunk for this activity…

For this project we had to start by making pompoms, which took me right back to my own childhood! I remember making them using circles of cardboard with a hole in the middle! It seems times have changed though as our Trunk came with a handy pompom making tool, which made the process much easier.

Once we’d finished our pompoms, the kids got to decorate their monsters however they wanted…

As well as the two main projects, Trunkaroo boxes also come with Discoveroo magazine. This month’s issue contains spooky experiments, puzzles, colouring and more!

Trunkaroo subscriptions start from just £16.99 a month and include two Art and STEM projects, plus a
bonus Discoveroo magazine. You also have the flexibility to cancel at anytime, so there’s no commitment. For more information on subscription options, or to sign up click here.

We LOVE Trunkaroo Boxes and already can’t wait for our next one to arrive. I mentioned in my last post that what I love the most about these boxes is that they are completely hassle free. They are delivered straight to your door and are complete with absolutely everything you need. I will hold my hands up and admit that I am no crafty mum, especially when I have to supply everything myself but Trunkaroo makes it so easy!

Thanks for reading.
