I very nearly didn’t write this post because the photos we took were a bit of a fail. The kids just didn’t want to be involved and it was all a bit of a nightmare. But a lot has happened this month for us, so I felt it was an important one to document, despite the shoddy photos!
At the beginning of this month we collected our new puppy, Poppy. August was a difficult one after losing our previous dog, Louis and Poppy has helped to heal our hearts since he left. Don’t get me wrong, it’s been an adjustment having a puppy to look after again and it hasn’t been easy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. She’s only been with us for a month, but we couldn’t imagine life without her now.
As well as a new puppy to adjust to this month, it’s also been back to school! And Evie starting full time school. It’s been tough for Evie and she’s been and still is very emotional about it, we are hoping she will settle down soon. Max too has found going back to school quite difficult but thankfully he seems to be getting used to it now and we have all adjusted to the new routine.
As September has been all about new routines and staying home to look after the new puppy, we are hoping for some fun and adventure in October. Poppy can now go out for walks, so I think a couple of National Trust trips will be on the cards. I actually cannot wait for October half term this year, I know we will all ready for the break. We are planning a trip to Whitby and an over night stay, which should be lovely. But before all that, in less than two weeks me and Mr E are off to Spain for three nights, child free! And although I’m nervous about leaving the children and the puppy, I know the break will do us the world of good.
Here are our slightly rubbish photos for this month…
I hope you’ve had a great September and the return to school routines hasn’t been too tough.
Thanks for reading.
