Last week was our fourth wedding anniversary! So to celebrate, we ditched the kids and went out for a lovely meal and a few cheeky cocktails.
I really miss the days when I could take a couple of hours getting dolled up before a night out, so this time my mum had the kids for tea which gave us time to get ready properly, no stress, no rush, it was bliss!
I’d decided I wanted to get a new dress because every time I go out, I go to my wardrobe and can never find anything I can wear. So a few days earlier I went shopping but as is always the case when you’re actually looking for something, of course I couldn’t find anything.
So I went home and looked online but still couldn’t find anything! In the end, on the day of our anniversary I went shopping again in a last minute panic and thankfully found two dresses that I liked! I didn’t have time to even try them on so I bought both and just prayed that one of them would look OK.
Well, sods law I loved both of them and then couldn’t decided which one to wear! The first one was this one from River Island but the one I ended up choosing to wear is this one from Urban Outfitters. I think the cut out detail on the back swung it for me, I’m a sucker for a bit of back detail on a dress! I also love the vintage floral pattern, just gorgeous!
My only concern with this dress is that it is so SHORT! I found myself thinking, can I really wear a dress this short? It’s not something I’d usually do but you know what, there will come a time very soon when I really am too old to wear things like this, I’m only 28 for goodness sake and I don’t think I look that bad in it…sod it I thought, I’m wearing it!
OK the legs are
a bit ridiculously pale but I’m not one for fake tan so I’ve had to learnt to just embrace the porcelain look, ha!
Anyway, we had a lovely night out. Here’s to many more happy years together!
Sandals from Primark.
What do you think to my outfit? Too much leg??
