Tackling Ageing Skin with the Tria Age-Defying Laser | Review

Over the past couple of months I’ve been lucky enough to try out the Tria Age-Defying Laser. Now I’ve never actually used a laser before or even considered it but I have to say that I’ve really enjoyed using it and have been impressed with the results.

Trip Beauty is the global leader in laser and light based skincare technology providing professional treatments at home at a fraction of the price. Tria offer a range of products including anti-ageing lasers and skincare, hair removal products and even an acne clearing device.

Age-Defying Laser

At the age of 29 my skin is beginning to age, and it’s definitely not what it was a few years ago. I’ve started to notice lines around my eyes and the lines on my forehead and around my mouth have become more noticeable, so I was keen to give this product a try and see if it would work for me.

The Age Defying Laser helps to smooths fine lines and wrinkles and skin texture, improves pigmentation and restores luminosity to the face. The idea is that the laser beams encourages collagen to rebuild  beneath the skin’s surface. Tria say that you will start to see results in as little as two weeks.

Here’s what Tria say:

The Age Defying Laser is recommended for use once a day for up to 8 weeks, and results can be seen in as little as two weeks. Targeted beams of light work below the skin’s surface to accelerate collagen and elastin production for visibly younger and more radiant skin. It’s safe, effective and easy to use.’ For maximum results, the recommended trial period for the Age Defying Laser is eight weeks and Tria suggest using it from 60 seconds to 10 minutes once a day depending on which setting you use (we recommend you start with Level 1 for the first initial few days and to achieve the best results move to Level 2 or 3 as quickly as possible). Once you have reached the eight week mark, stop using the product for four weeks to allow the skin to regenerate then you can being another eight week cycle.

First Impressions

The Tria Age-Defying Laser arrived nicely packaged in its box which includes full instructions, the laser itself, the charging unit, a candle, a priming cleanser and a finishing serum.

I thought that the candle was a nice touch as it really adds to that at home spa experience. The first time that I tried the laser I decided to make it a bit of a pamper evening for myself. I lit the candle, had a bath, poured myself a glass of wine and did my nails, it was heaven!

The idea is that you start out on the first setting for the first few days, then move up to the second level for a couple of weeks and then finally get up to the third and final setting. Before I tried the laser I tested it out on the back of my hand just to kind of prepare myself for what it would feel like. The best way I can describe it is as a prickly feeling, you can also feel the heat from the laser too, but I definitely wouldn’t describe it as painful.

Before using the laser for the first time, I made sure I read the instructions thoroughly. First of all I removed my makeup and used the priming cleanser. This is a really nice product which left my skin feeling clean and fresh.

The laser is very easy to use, it glides over the skin effortlessly and you will see a red light when the device is in use. You simply move the laser across your face from side to side, treating each zone; forehead, cheeks and chin.

The sensation definitely increases as you go up through the treatment levels, and for me it did become a little uncomfortable at times (I do have an embarrassingly low pain threshold!) but you do get used to this. What I would say is do not be tempted to jump straight in to the top setting as you will most likely regret it. Allow your skin the time to adjust to each level before moving up and you will be fine.

My skin coped very well with the treatment and at no point during the six week trial period did I experience any pain or peeling of the skin. After each treatment I did notice my skin was a little red but nothing dramatic and it soon settled down.

I have been using the laser about 5 times per week, it is recommended that you do not use it more than once in a 24 hour period so I made sure I spaced out each session.

In terms of results I would definitely say that my skin is looking healthier and the lines are much less obvious. I did have a friend actually comment on how good my skin looked a couple of days ago, which was great and I can only put that down the Tria laser. Of course I have only been using the laser for six weeks and although I have seen good results, I expect that I will see better results further down the line.

At this point I am looking forward to continuing to use the Tria Age-Defying Laser and can’t wait to see what results I get in a couple more months.

Is it worth the money?

The Tria Age-Defying Laser is not a cheap product, in fact it is available to buy direct from Tria Beauty for £495. So is it worth it? I think it all depends on you, if you have significantly ageing skin I don’t think this product will do you much good. But for someone in their 30’s and maybe 40’s who is just starting to notice a change in their skin, then yes I say it is definitely worth it as you will get results.

Is this something you would consider using? Or have you used this product or something similar in the past?

Thanks for reading.
