As you may know, we moved into our new house last year and have been slowly making our way through the renovations. This summer we have been tackling the garden and it’s looking so much better! We are happy with the garden for now, but I’ve already got some ideas for the future, including adding an indoor space outdoors. After reading the ultimate guide to creating indoor spaces outdoors by Nationwide supplies, it really got me thinking about how we can make the most of our garden. Here are some ideas I have…
Garden office
I think the best idea for us would be to create a garden office. I work from home, so it would be ideal for me to be able to escape to the garden to work. Currently I work from the sofa or the dining table, which is fine but it means I don’t ever really shut off because there’s no separation between work and home. A garden office wouldn’t require too much space either as it would only need to house a desk.
Home cinema
A home cinema would be perfect for us as a family. We love to watch films together so I know it’s a space we would use a lot. It would be perfect for the children at the age they are at too, they could invite their friends round and get to enjoy their own space without us parents cramping their style! I love the retro cinema chairs that you can buy too.
Gym space
I know a gym space is something that me and my husband would use a lot. We currently have some equipment set up in our garage. My husband uses it regularly but I hate going into our dark and dingy old garage, so I stay away! A brand new garden gym space would be ideal for us and although there would be an initial cost to build the space, we would be able to save money long term on gym memberships. It’s even something that the kids could use as they get older too.
Entertaining space
Another idea that I like is having a space for entertaining in the garden. If we have friends or family over for a BBQ and the weather isn’t great, it would be nice to have a summer house to sit in. We could add a bar too. Spaces like this are great for winter also, add a log burner and you can enjoy your garden all year round.
